Chapter 20 - Chapter 20: Mrs. Parker, Do You Really Want to Live With Me?

Polly Sutton has been pulling all-nighters for several days just to complete the design drawings. She fell asleep not long after Victor Parker put on her sunglasses.

As the plane took off, Victor requested a blanket and covered Polly with it, then took out a book to read: "A Must-Read Guide for New Parents."

"Aren't you afraid something might happen while you're abroad?" Michael Knight whispered to Victor Parker.

"Even if I truly wanted to leave the country, they couldn't stop me." Victor replied calmly, as if he didn't care about the issue of not being able to travel abroad.

Michael smirked at his response, "True."

So far, no one has been able to stop what Victor wants to do. That's why he could climb to the top in such a ruthless place in the past. A mere shopping mall is not a challenge for him.

"Is the situation with Parker Corporation really that severe?" Michael whispered even lower.

"Just a group of pampered old men using their shares to threaten people," Victor dismissed casually. "The Parker Corporation has too many shares leaked over the years; it's long overdue for a buyback."

"The shares those old men hold collectively outnumber yours. If they really decide to go all out, the consequences…"

"They wouldn't dare. At least they have to take a chance to see if I can multiply the value of the shares in their hands," Victor was more aware of this than anyone else. "But there's still the matter of 51% of the shares…"

When 51% of shares are in one person's hands, it's a terrifying situation. At the end of the day, Victor might end up making wedding clothes for someone else.

As Polly slept, her head lolled to one side, landing directly on Victor's shoulder.

Victor raised his hand and lifted the armrest between them, allowing Polly to lean against him and continue her peaceful sleep.

Michael glanced at the woman cradled by Victor, "If that person from the Rook Family were still alive, he'd be about this age too."

"You're speaking a lot today," Victor replied, tucking Polly's blanket snugly and looking at Michael.

Michael chuckled gracefully and leaned back in his seat, "Time changes all, and people change."

After he laughed, his gaze suddenly fell on the book Victor had closed, and half in awe, he didn't react for a while.

What is the title of the book Victor was reading?

"A Must-Read Guide for New Parents?"

Michael: "..."

Not even a thunderbolt from the blue could compare.

Polly slept all the way to M Country, and when she awoke, she was in a bewildered state, momentarily forgetting who she was or where she was.

Victor knocked on her forehead, bringing her back to her senses, "Why did you hit me?" Polly exclaimed, holding her head.

"Fool," Victor remarked before turning away and leaving.

Polly gritted her teeth and followed him out, secretly muttering curses at him.

Michael laughed softly behind them, prompting Polly to quickly step aside, "Stay away from me, or I'll get trampled by your fans."

"It's okay," Michael tapped her forehead lightly, "while I'm around, they wouldn't dare."

Polly didn't believe him, and she dashed off the plane faster than a monkey, hopping onto Victor's exclusive VIP shuttle.

The hotel had been arranged in advance, part of the Parker Corporation's chain hotels.

Upon entering, Polly constantly scrutinized the hotel's design. The hotel's design was crafted by the renowned M Country designer MR. Yang. Apart from M Country's distinct style, the design also drew inspiration from traditional forest garden style, seamlessly integrating this into the overall design without overpowering it.

And the person they were meeting this time was MR. Yang.

"Watch for the pole," Victor grabbed Polly by her collar just before she collided with a pillar, redirecting her safely.

The hotel's upper management was stationed at the entrance, with the general manager courteously guiding Victor inside.

"The president's room is ready, and this year's company accounts have been delivered to your room. When would you like to schedule the meeting?"

"No need to arrange anything; I'm just here to see someone," Victor interrupted with a raised hand, "Bring someone familiar with the hotel over."

Victor led Polly into the elevator, clearly intending for them to go alone.

Polly glanced around inside the elevator; it wasn't the conventional type but had another layer inside, featuring a hollow relief design depicting classic scenes from M Country.

Since entering the hotel, Polly had noticed that every detail in the hotel exemplified meticulous craftsmanship. It's no wonder it took three whole years for completion.

The elevator reached the top floor, and Polly followed Victor out. Just as she was about to step down, she realized something, "I don't have a room card."

She said this and suddenly retreated back into the elevator, "Mr. Parker, they must have forgotten. I'll go down and get it… Hey…"

Just before the elevator door closed, Polly was pulled out, scaring her nearly out of her skin.

"You, you, you…" Had she not been pulled out, she would've been squashed!

Victor took her into the room.

Polly clung to the door, refusing to enter, "Victor, don't take advantage of me."

Victor turned to her stubbornly clinging to the doorway, "What advantage do you have for me to take? Your looks?"

Polly: "..."

She looked over to Victor, leaning against the wall with arms crossed, eyes full of disdain for her.

"Is it really that honorable for a man to be more attractive than a woman?" Polly retorted.

"Your money?"

Polly: "..."

Polly touched her thin little wallet; all her money had long been spent on frivolities over the years, how could she have any left?

"Your money wasn't all earned by you, was it? Is it really something to be proud of, being born with a silver spoon?"

"Being born into privilege is also a skill," Victor was unabashed, "Your intelligence?"

Polly: "!!!"

"You, you…," How could he stoop to personal attacks?

Victor tut-tutted, somewhat disappointed, "Seems like there's not much worth taking."

Polly took a deep breath, don't get mad, don't stoop to his level.

"Alright, since Mr. Parker doesn't care about his own safety, I've got no reason to be afraid either," Polly said, striding in with exaggerated confidence, "Don't regret it, Mr. Parker."

"Let's see," Victor leaned against the wall at the entrance, watching Polly go past him, slightly anticipating what she might do.

Once inside, Polly discovered the presidential suite was actually a three-bedroom, two-living-room arrangement with a kitchen, a top-class presidential suite indeed.

Andrew Lindsey delivered the luggage, "Miss Sutton's luggage has been placed in her room."

Polly turned to Victor with an angry glare, had this irritating man tricked her again?

Victor met her furious look and teased, "Why, does Mrs. Parker really want to live with me?"
