After washing up, Lucas Quinn played two rounds of games in his room. Charlotte Allison still hadn't returned from the study, so he checked the time—it was almost 1 a.m.—and decided to get up and see what was going on.
What he saw was Charlotte Allison sitting at the desk, absentmindedly biting on an unlit cigarette, lost in thought.
Hearing footsteps, she raised her eyes to look at him and simultaneously removed the cigarette from her mouth.
"Is there something urgent?" Lucas Quinn asked.
"No," she replied. Although she'd been on break the past few days, everything she'd arranged was still in motion. Some things couldn't be rushed immediately.
"Then go wash up." Lucas Quinn picked her up from the chair.
"Okay, I'll listen to you." Charlotte Allison enjoyed the fun of having a little buddy for a ride.
