Chapter 15 - Date: On Ice

Was Henry surprised at her reply?

Maybe, but not really in actual fact.

For someone like her that would turn off conversations just from the way she looked at someone, it was not a surprise that Maud rarely went out, other than with family of course.

So she didn't know that many places to hang out and have fun with someone.

"Are you disappointed?" Her tone was as emotionless as it can be with her looking down not daring to look him in the eyes, but not to Henry as he could pick up the heavy scent of nervousness and fear.

Reaching out to clasp her hand, causing her to shiver at his touch,

"Look at me." He said gently, and she did slowly.

Tightening his grip gently, being careful not to break it, he gave her a gentle and warm smile and spoke.

"With you? Not one single bit, this just means that we can enjoy the places you haven't been to together." His aura seeped into her to convey his very emotions of what he meant.

Making her all warm and fuzzy inside at these emotions she thought she would never experience. Her mind and heart could very much agree that being with him is the best decision that she had ever made.

But as she was about to say something, Henry removed his hand and returned to his normal expression causing Maud to awaken from her daze, and soon enough Coco came with their orders.

"There you are guys if you need anything. Please don't hesitate to call. Enjoy!" She gave them a smile and skated off to go serve the other customers after the two gave their thanks.

"Looks good, let's." He said as he dove into his meal, it was a simple dish; spaghetti and meatballs but the aroma it was giving off told him that this here was the spaghetti and meatballs he has never tried yet.

Maud's meal was almost the same as a turkey sandwich, but of course, it is going to be different.

Soon enough they were talking and eating, they conversed about their hobbies, day, and activities but mostly just enjoyed their time together. Within an hour they finished their meal and even ordered dessert.

Paying for their meal and tipping Coco for her service skills, Henry was outside once more with Maud as he saw that it was getting deeper into the evening.

Placing his arm around Maud's shoulders, he pulled her closer and walked with her towards his bike as she just melted into his arm without a word.

Just then Henry remembered seeing a place that he could take her to enjoy just as much as he would, recalled seeing it on the phone this morning as he was searching online. With a bright smile, he looked at the beauty in his arms and removed his arm from her shoulders, and took her hand, gaining her attention.

"I suddenly remembered a spot that seemed very interesting for us to enjoy together." He smiled mysteriously as pulled her faster towards his bike, making her puzzled even if it was hard to see on her face.

They mounted it and Henry rode off with his beautiful companion in mystery as well as anticipation of where they were going. The direction was towards the interior of the city as the tall skyscrapers could now be seen on all sides.

Soon enough within 10 minutes, they reached their destination, Maud was surprised because she knew this place but like much of everything else in her life other than her studies, she ignored it.

"The Canterlot Skating ring?" She asked as she looked at the large building and turned to look at her partner that brought her here with her blank look that demanded an explanation.

"Yeah, don't tell me you have never skated before?" He inquired, to which he gently shook her hand.

"I have, during winter with my sisters on the lake. But never with someone else." She spoke softly as she looked down, Henry could feel the nervousness oozing off her and so he took her hand gently to ease her worry.

"Well there is a first for everything and I believe that this will be a wonderful experience that will help us reach a new level in our relationship." He assured her gently, and he then pulled her inside.

The interior was slightly chilly, even more so since it was nighttime. The building's purpose was for any of the winter sports but since it was the beginning of summer it was used for training as well as leisure by anyone.

Henry took Maud to get a pair of skates for them both, the sat on the benches to replace their normal shoes with them. Looking at the rink, he had to admit that it is bigger than what it seemed from the outside, he also saw a couple of people having fun and then a few that looked like professionals that came to train.

Finishing his skates first he turned towards Maud and saw that she had just put on her last skate but had not tied them both.

"Let me help you." He announced before he was kneeling in front of her and took her one foot and place it on his bent knee as he started to tie it.

Looking up at her with a smile that brought out a small one from her, he did the same with the other one as they both entered a sweet moment of comfortable silence.

Maud was in a daze as she looked at this man in front of her, his gestures and manner were gentle, kind, and sweet and it sent ripples over and over in her heart so many times this day then she had ever felt in her entire life.

"Done!" Henry said, breaking her thoughts as he tapped her thick thigh gently sending a small wave of pleasurable warmth to the rest of her body.

"Come on. The ice awaits my dear." He stood up and held out his hand to her with a small smile.

She took it, as they were near the entrance to the rink, they didn't have to wobble awkwardly and entered the rink for the first time together. He gently pushed her forward first and let her get used to the rink.

It was as if they had stepped into a different plane of existence; the air, sounds, lights, and atmosphere had changed.

It was cold, quieter, brighter, and more solemn than the outside.

For Maud these changes brought nothing on her face that was as cold as the ice she was sliding on, but for the inside for her very being she felt for the first time in her life felt very much alone and lonely.

All her life she had people by her side, and she did care and loved her family even if she barely showed anything, she had to admit that she was lonely but not alone as she had a family to turn to, but now.

She could feel the coldness, the emptiness trying to seep slowly into her very being that she was alone and lonely.

Until.

"Don't just stand there my dear. Come let's warm up." His voice and warm touch woke her and filled her heart with strength and comfort.

'How could I forget, with him in my heart there is nothing to worry about.' She gave a faint smile at that thought as she looked at him slide beside her.

"You look very beautiful with that smile on your face Maud. Very charming." Henry teased her as he slid by her in reverse and moved closer to tap her nose gently.

Maud couldn't stop her smile from forming at his praise and gestures all the while saying nothing as she couldn't say anything.

She even forgot that they had begun skating as all she could do was focus on him.

Henry first was a little weirded out by her behavior when he gave her a nudge onto the rink, but he cleared her up with his aura as he took her hand and began to guide her slowly first.

Passing by the other people that would stare at them. He took her to an open spot before turning around to face her and taking both her hands and pulling her closer.

"I am going to need you to be with me in this one." He said as paused and used one hand to point at her forehead,

"Up there, in there, and down there." He said as he pointed at her eyes and ended with him placing his palm on her large soft breast where her heart was.

Maud just closed her eyes for a moment before opening them with a glint in them that was not there before and nodded at Henry as she held both his hands tight.

"I trust you." She uttered simply, to Henry she couldn't have looked more beautiful.

"Good, leave it all to me." Henry gave a charming and gentle smile.

Then they both began to move, completely blocking everything else in the world making them the only people in their little world.

Earning gasps of amazement from the rest of the crowd and even those that were busy had to come and see them, as only one word could come out of their mouths at that time.

"Wow!"
