Elena shouted for Anna, Elisa, and Monica. The three girls turned just in time to see a gigantic black hammer hurtling toward them. Elena was too late; the ground beneath her stretched and warped endlessly, slowing her desperate sprint.
BAAAAM!
A violent explosion of watercolor-like magic energy erupted. In an instant the three girls were crushed flat against the floor. Elena screamed in horror as her friends resembled squashed pancakes.
"N-No…! Wait…! What is this?! WHAT HAPPENED?!"
Tears welled in her eyes as raw disbelief and terror gripped her…
"Ugh, what the hell is this?"
"This stinks…"
"Ouch…"
They weren't dead! Their voices rang out clearly. Elena looked down and found them alive—cartoonishly flattened, just like characters in a gag manga who get smashed by a giant hammer but never truly die.
"W-What the fuck?! Can't you three go back to normal?" Elena asked, voice trembling with desperation.
