After the successful raid in Vulcan's Cave, Evie spent a few hours of real time traveling before she finally arrived outside Illusion Forest.
The place lay in the little-frequented northern stretch of the Sprites' continent, a quiet border where the wind moved like whispers and the trees leaned together as if keeping secrets.
She had done research on the way. To her surprise, there was already information about the Forest, and several guilds were planning to enter. Rumors said there was a Boss inside—something ancient—nesting among tangled woods, fungus-encrusted glades, and paths that twisted back on themselves with malice. The forest changed trails each hour, or so the boards claimed. People said it fed on mistakes.
Evie stepped forward and drew a breath.
