Chapter 38 - Chapter 38: Suspicion, Seventh Sister Is Being Followed

Benjamin Green thought for a moment, then shook his head, "No, today's the first time I've seen my sister."

Julian Sia's gaze focused; this was odd.

Downstairs, Caleb Green had just entered through the main door when he brushed past Claire Green, his body halting as his peripheral vision caught her features.

This person's features closely resembled hers. By the time he turned around to call Claire Green, all he saw was her receding silhouette.

Suppressing the faint suspicion in his heart, Caleb Green headed straight to the top floor, and upon opening the door, saw the little rascal sitting leisurely on the sofa playing with his phone.

"Benjamin Green, are you itching for trouble?"

He walked over, his voice sounding dangerous.

Upon hearing that familiar voice from above, Benjamin Green's body shook, and he quickly climbed down, raising his head to smile.

"Brother, you came really fast."

Caleb Green was unmoved by his smile and narrowed his eyes, "Really? Tell me, how did you end up going with someone else?"

At the mention of this, Julian Sia, sitting to one side, casually interjected, "Balloon scam."

As soon as he finished speaking.

Benjamin Green saw his brother's face darken, and he couldn't help but complain inwardly about Julian Sia.

How could Julian say it like that?

I was clearly doing a friendly exchange.

Seeing Caleb Green suddenly raise his hand, Benjamin Green yelled out, his voice still a bit childish.

"Brother, if you hit me, I'll tell Mom."

The response he got was pain in his ear.

Caleb Green saw his eyes quickly fill with tears and chuckled; this little rascal always reacted the same way whenever something happened.

"Will you dare next time?"

"I won't dare, brother, let go," Benjamin Green sniffled, holding back his tears as he spoke.

After releasing him, Caleb Green looked around curiously but didn't see the girl he mentioned.

"Where's that sister you mentioned?"

Hearing this, Benjamin Green glared at him. If it weren't for his brother coming, his sister wouldn't have left.

"You scared sister away."

Caleb Green's mind flashed to the girl he had seen downstairs; could she be the sister the little rascal mentioned?

With this thought, he couldn't help but ask, "Mr. Julian, do you have a photo of that girl?"

Julian Sia raised an eyebrow, looking over; this didn't seem like something Caleb would say.

He replied nonchalantly, "Why?"

"I just saw the girl's features downstairs resemble my mom's a lot. As you know, my sister was taken away at birth."

Caleb Green mentioned this topic, his face heavy.

Seventeen years ago, his mother gave birth to a baby girl at the hospital. While everyone was happy, the child was suddenly taken away, leaving no trace.

All these years, he had been investigating that incident but still couldn't find the little girl.

Upon hearing this, Julian Sia paused; the story of the Green family's daughter being taken wasn't a secret in Capital City.

Considering Claire Green was adopted, everything seemed rather intriguing.

"No photo."

Julian Sia lowered his gaze, speaking calmly.

A hint of disappointment flashed in Caleb Green's eyes, his heart also feeling empty.

"Knock, knock—"

The door was knocked on, and Charles Jordan, receiving a response, pushed the door open, not surprised to see Caleb Green inside.

"Mr. Julian, William Jordan sent word; Emma White appeared at Night Covenant a few days ago. Mr. Kwang was right; this Emma White is quite a young boy, and we can't find anything else about him. Someone should be helping behind the scenes."

Upon hearing this, Julian Sia chuckled lightly; it was indeed interesting.

One J, one Emma White; both suddenly appeared, the connections behind them were significant.

Caleb Green's eyes held a shallow smile, "So mysterious, no wonder Mr. Kwang turned him down."

Charles Jordan thought for a moment and voiced his speculation.

"Mr. Julian, I think the ones helping Emma White might be those few under M.K's leader, but the most likely is J."

Julian Sia replied lazily with a single word, "Hm."

Caleb Green stood up, speaking to the person on the sofa, "Little rascal, let's go."

Benjamin Green turned off his phone, obediently following behind, and suddenly turned back to smile at Julian Sia, shaking his phone.

Watching the two leave, Julian Sia opened his phone to see the message on it and chuckled.

[Julian brother, can you send me sister's number?]

Benjamin Green sat in the car, staring at his phone, motionless, waiting for a reply.

Could it be Julian didn't catch my meaning? I should have just said it directly; he thought with regret, pouting his lips.

Caleb Green, noticing his expression, amusedly tapped his head.

"What's wrong?"

"I didn't get sister's contact," Benjamin Green sat curled up with his hands supporting his chin, looking quite dejected.

Caleb Green's lip quirked into a smile as he asked, "Do you really like her that much?"

This was the first time he had seen his younger brother like a girl this much.

Benjamin Green nodded, "Yeah, plus sister and I have a connection; she's also a Green."

Upon hearing this, Caleb Green paused for a moment, then tightened his gaze, "You said she's a Green."

"Yeah."

Caleb Green was instantly filled with countless thoughts; could such a coincidence really exist in the world?

As soon as Claire Green stepped out, someone quickly informed Michael Goodman.

"She's out."

Michael Goodman held a cigarette, took a drag, and spoke coldly, "Follow her."

Claire Green was driving, watching the trailing car in the rearview mirror, a sudden chill in her eyes and a sneer on her lips.

She knew someone was following her, but she had been in a good mood, so she let it slide; now, thinking about it, her eyes held even more chill.

She changed direction, driving straight ahead.

The people in the following car laughed loudly at seeing the direction she was heading, "This woman really is foolish, heading towards the outskirts makes things easier for us."

Michael Goodman sat in the back seat, recalling Eva Goodman's words earlier, his eyes glinting coldly. Since Julian Sia had involved her, she couldn't blame him.

The car drove towards the suburbs, eventually coming to a steady stop at an abandoned parking lot.

Claire Green stepped out, her eyes slightly red, staring at the eight men opposite clutching iron rods, a wicked grin on her lips.

"Miss, our boss wants to have some fun with you," one of the men spoke, his tone frivolous.

"Sure, how do you want to play," Claire Green twisted her wrist, stepping forward one step at a time.

Then.

Before the man could react, she had seized the iron rod and swung it over, "Is this how you play?"

The man was caught off guard, pain quickly spreading through his body.

The others stared in bewilderment at the sudden turn of events, then rushed forward.

The iron rod sliced through the air, ferociously targeting Claire Green.

Claire Green sidestepped swiftly, arrived behind him, and struck his spine with the rod. That moment, everyone heard the sound of bones cracking.

The remaining six were frightened, suddenly feeling scared; but thinking of the money, they rushed forward again.

Claire Green's expression was icy, her eyes filled with a fierce intensity. She deftly evaded, each time the iron rod in her hand landed precisely on them.

Five minutes later, the men couldn't get up, lying on the ground with bruised faces groaning.

In the car, Michael Goodman's face turned pale, shocked that these men couldn't even overpower a girl, and quickly decided to drive away.

But just as he started, he saw an iron rod flying directly towards him, startling him into getting out of the car.

Then, he heard the crisp sound of breaking glass.

"Claire Green, what do you want?"

Michael Goodman looked at the scene, his heart trembling, thinking if he hadn't gotten off the car, the shattered glass would have pierced his body, shuddering in fear.
