Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: Nelson & Murdock

Hello readers!

Yes, I'm not dead.

Sorry I haven't updated in a long while.

Real life was extremely busy. New job, other stuff.

So I was too burnt out to right and give you the quality chapters you deserve. But now I'm back.

Though I can't give you an exact update schedule.

Even so I hope you'll continue reading my stories.

Also July was Super Fantastic 🔥

Superman and the Fantastic Four: First Steps were incredible to see. I truly enjoyed them.

Both Marvel and DC comics are truly back.

Now then onto the chapter.

Humming the Spectacular Spider-Man theme song to myself I made my way through the streets of Hell's Kitchen.

Until eventually I arrived at the building housing the Nelson & Murdock law office.

Entering it I soon arrived at their front door.

Where after I knocked said door was opened a few seconds later by none other than Karen Page.

"Hello young man, may I help you?" She asked.

"I'm Peter Parker. We spoke on the phone a few days ago and I'm here for my appointment." I explained.

Karen giving me a strange look for a moment before putting back on her mask of professionalism. "Yes. Of course. Right this way."

Karen then ushered me inside.

After she did she led me to a small meeting room where none other than two of the best lawyers in the Marvel universe were seated at a small table.

Franklin "Foggy" Nelson.

And the Man without Fear himself, Matthew "Matt" Murdock. Otherwise known as Daredevil.

Who from my research, just like his law firm, has already been active in his heroic identity for a couple of years now.

"Hello Mr. Murdock, Mr. Nelson." I spoke to the pair. Taking the open seat in front of them.

While Karen left the room, closing the door behind her.

"Hello Mr. Parker." Matt replied. "And don't take this the wrong way but might I ask how old you are? Because you sound quite young."

"None taken Mr. Murdock. And you're right. I am young. Fifteen years old to be exact." I revealed.

"So a kid." Foggy couldn't help but say.

Only for Matt to elbow him slightly.

"I mean, how can we help you today?" He asked. "Since you never gave any indication as to why you made this appointment when you arranged it."

"I would like Nelson & Murdock to review this contract and inform me of any information within it that would be detrimental to me in regards to the deal described within its pages." I explained.

Reaching into my bag and sliding the contract over to the duo.

Specifically in front of Foogy since Matt is "blind".

Picking up the contact Foggy began skimming through it. His eyes going wide in shock a few seconds later.

"Fantastic Four." He muttered.

Foggy then looked at me.

"Well Mr. Parker. It seems you're in business with quite the people." Matt surmised.

"I am. And although I feel like I can trust them, given their reputation, I'd rather be safe than sorry. Especially considering how much money there is on the table." I explained.

"Smart. Greed is one of the deadliest sins for a reason after all." Matt said.

His Catholic upbringing bleeding through a bit.

Me finally realizing just how ironic it was a man like him chooses to model the devil in his heroic persona.

"That it is." I replied. "But back to the matter at hand. Will Nelson & Murdock take me on as a client or not?"

Saying nothing Matt grabbed Foggy shoulder and then pulled him slightly closer.

The two of them then whispered for a few seconds before returning their full attention to me.

"We'd be happy to take you on as a client Mr. Parker." Foggy said.

"Excellent." I replied. "Though I must admit my family and I can't pay you all that much at the moment. Our financial situation isn't all that great. But once this deal goes through, and the money starts coming in, I swear I'll pay you for full fee and then some. Also if you all do good work I would love to work together with you again in the future."

For when I start my own version of Parker Industries having good lawyers on retainer, with good moral compasses, is a must.

And since I know for a fact Matt and Foggy fall into both those categories I wouldn't mind hooking them up with more cash flow work.

That way they can focus on helping their community without having to worry if they're going to be able to pay rent or where their next meal is coming from.

Not to mention it will even put me in Daredevil's good graces even further.

So multiple birds, one big ass stone.

"My, that's quite the confidence you have Mr. Parker." Matt said.

"I just know what I know." I replied. "Also if you both could please call me Peter. Being called Mr. Parker makes me feel like an old man."

Even though I technically am mentally.

"Sure." Foggy agreed.

"I don't see why not." Matt added.

"Thank you." I replied. "So if there's nothing else I'll take my leave. My number is on the contact. So please don't hesitate to call me if you have any other questions."

"The same to you in regards to us Peter." Matt replied. "Though I do have one more question for you before you go. Why did you pick our law firm to assist you in this matter?"

"Well like I said before, my family doesn't have much money. That's a big part of the reason I began working to put this deal together in the first place. To give us a better life. But I know how the world works. That's why I wanted to protect myself. And while I knew a number of big law firms would jump at the chance to help me with this matter I didn't want to work with lawyers who cared more about the job than the people they are representing. So I began looking for some who did and eventually I stumbled upon a local law firm in Hell's Kitchen. Founded by two locals who wanted to help their community and the people in it. Bringing us to now." I spoke.

Being completely truthful.

"Understood." Matt replied. A smile on his face.

Foggy mirroring the smile with one of his own.

Which is the last thing I saw before bidding the office of Nelson & Murdock a good day.

I then began heading straight for the Web.

Since I finally collected enough materials to not only construct my web-shooters but also make my super suit.

So this is where the fun begins.
