Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Beating Down A Bully (Rewrite)

A pep in my step, and my most important business concluded for the day, I headed over to my secret base/lab.

Which I have chosen to call the Web.

Get it, because I'm Spiderman and this is my home base, almost like my own web.

Ah, sometimes I crack myself up.

Moving on.

After arriving I took out my father's files from Oscorp, and with the remaining data I found on his computer, I began trying to progress his work.

For it truly was revolutionary.

If cross-species DNA integration was made a reality then like doctor Curt Connors said in TASM one not only could hundreds of diseases and ailments be cured, but the breakthrough would revolutionize the world of science as we knew it.

That is something I wanted to see.

Hence why I began picking up where my father left off.

But as I got into his research I realized how much I was truly missing.

That's why I made a mental note to stop my Oscorp Industries in the future and make myself a copy of all their data related to cross-species genetics since my mother and father "disappeared" and also grab myself a couple of the spiders.

For by studying them, and myself, I just might be able to solve the problem my parents couldn't and that brings a smile to my face.

So I worked on the research some more before putting it away.

I then went home.

After which I continued my routine as normal for the next week.

Until one morning at breakfast May came into the dining room, carrying a rather large brown envelope, stamped with the symbol of the Fantastic Four on it.

"Peter, this is for you." May said. Placing it down in front of me. "So, mind sharing what this is all about young man?"

"Sure aunt May." I replied. "So you know how I submitted an application detailing a project I had been working on to the Future Foundation, run by the Fantastic Four, and they requested to meet with me about it last week."

"No." Ben and May said at the exact same time.

"Really, could've sworn I mentioned it." I said. Putting a little grin on my face.

Ignoring the glare May was giving me after I did.

"So anyway I accepted their request, went down to the Baxter Building, met with the Fantastic Four themselves, which was itself a reward, and then added a short chat we came to a business arrangement in regards to the product I created."

"What sort of arrangement?" Ben asked.

"That they produce and market the product for me and get a small share of the profits generated from it, but in return the product is patented under my name, I retain sole ownership of the idea, and also retain the rest of the profits generated by it." I explained.

Leaving May and Ben a bit stunned.

But they both quickly regained their composure.

"Wow. Peter." May mused. "That's great. But just because you have this deal going on doesn't mean you're dropping out of school young man."

"Of course not May. Stop worrying. I'm staying in school. Besides I don't even have a single college degree to my name yet. And since I plan to start my own company in the future, of which this deal right now is a very first important step, that is just one of the many things I have to have." I spoke.

"Company? When did you come up with such an idea champ?" Ben asked me.

"Been thinking about it for a while now actually." I revealed. "I just wanted to get some things in order before telling either of you."

"Well continue doing you Peter. And remember no matter what happens we love you." Ben said.

"I know uncle Ben, I know." I replied. "On that note do you know any lawyers who might be able to take a look at this contract for me?" I asked.

Since while I don't think the F4 would try and screw me without vaseline this is a business deal and I would rather be safe than sorry.

Ben and May quickly answered my question, saying they didn't. But that they would look into it.

Me agreeing to do the same.

Even though I already have a couple of lawyers in mind.

With that we wrapped up breakfast and I headed off to school.

Where upon arrival I told Harry and Ned about my business deal with the F4.

"Dude. Why didn't you tell us sooner?!" Ned asked. "You got to meet the Fantastic Four! Is doctor richards as smart as they say. Is Susan Storm as hot?! No, forget that last one. I mean I do think the Invisible Woman is pretty but hot. I mean-"

"-Ned." I interrupted. "Take foot out of mouth with silence."

"Right." He replied. Giving me a nod.

"But seriously Peter you got to meet the Fantastic Four." Harry added.

"Oh, what's this now I hear?" Gwen asked. Stopping as she walked by us. "Something about the Fantastic Four and you Parker." She said.

"Oh, nothing much. Just this is all." I said. Taking out my phone and showing my friends the pictures I took with each member of the Fantastic Four.

Leaving them all speechless.

Just as I planned.

Man, do you know how long I've been waiting for this?!

Though it was well worth it.

"Peter. Tell us everything. Now." Gwen spoke.

"Okay." I replied.

I then got ready to speak.

*Slam*

Only for a loud slam to draw mine, and the others attention.

Looking in its direction the four of us saw Flash working to stuff one our classmates, Gordon, whom he, Harry, and I, had known since middle school, into a locker. His entourage cheering him on.

Leading me to get a look of utter disgust on my face.

'Okay, enough of this shit.' I thought.

I then began walking towards the group.

"Ah Pete." Harry said.

"It's fine Harry. I got this." I replied. "Eugene! Hey Eugene!" I then began calling out.

Leading Flash to stop in his actions and look directly at me, a look of horror on his face as I used his real name.

Ignoring this I reached him and looked him in his eyes. "Put Gordon down." I said.

"What, want to take his place puny Parker?" He mockingly asked.

"No, what I really want is for you to cut the bully stuff. For it's so pathetic it's not even funny. But well, it's like they say. All dreams can't come true." I mused.

Right after I did Flash dropped Gordon and then grabbed me, slamming me into the lockers.

Though it didn't hurt.

"Say that again nerd." Flash snarled.

Though before I answered him I raised a hand in Gwen direction, making sure she didn't try and interfere. Like I saw her getting ready to do out of the corner of my eye.

"I said cut the bullying crap Flash. No, Eugene. I mean come on man. We're in highschool. Almost adults, and you're still doing this. Tell me, what in your is so bad you got to make others feel worthless hm? Because from what I see your life doesn't look so bad. And if you feel that it does man up and change it. Or maybe you can't. Maybe you're just too scared. I mean I bet that's why you have everyone call you Flash, isn't it Eugene? Isn't it?"

"What. No, that's not...shut up!" Flash said again.

"Yeah, that's what I thought. Listen Flash I'll only say it once more. Stop this bully crap. Because in the real world people aren't afraid to hit back. Nor will they tolerate it. That's all I've got to say." I spoke once more.

I then broke Flash hold on me easily and moved to check on Gordon.

Ignoring the silence my actions generated.

Until one person broke it.

"D...damn!!" They said.

Leading whispers to start.

But again I ignored them.

Helping Gordon out of that mess.

"Thanks Pete." He told me.

"Anytime Gordon." I replied.

While he walked off as I rejoned Harry and the others.

"Woah, dude did that just happen?" Ned asked. "No of course it did. You just beat up Flash Thompson. So cool."

"Thanks Ned." I replied. "So about my meeting with the Fantastic Four."

"Wait. So we're just going to skip over what just happened?" Gwen asked.

"I mean it was simple. A bully finally had someone put him in his place. Nothing more and nothing less. Now, as I was saying about the Fantastic Four..." I began again.

Gwen not interrupting me this time thankfully.

Though a few minutes later the warning bell did.

Thus all of us went to class.

Though I continued my talk with each of them in our classes, until the day ended.

I then went home and began "searching" for a lawyer to review the contact the Fantastic Four had sent me.

Until finally I asked Ben and May if they found any leads a few days later.

Them giving me some.

But I politely declined. Since I already knew the lawyers I wanted to use for this deal.

Nelson & Murdock.

Which already exists in this reality.

So with that I called and made an appointment.

Getting myself all ready to meet the Devil of Hell's Kitchen.
