Chapter 107: First Day at UAAuthor: Geraint
On the first day of Hero School, Ichika stood outside the dormitory with Roboco, both dressed in their UA uniforms. He yawned sleepily, then turned to his daughter.
"They're really taking their time. Did you forget anything, Roboco?"
My body might be made of flesh now, but my High-Spec functions are still as sharp as when I was an android. I just wanted to ask if you remembered to pack my lunch.
"Of course I did! I even woke up early to practice your favorite dish."
Father, you're getting worse. Please don't treat me like a baby girl. I'm not even a child.
"Yeah, but you're still my child. Hehehe…"
Roboco pouted as he gently patted her head.
Father, you're not listening.
"Ichika-kun! We're ready!"
Toru and Momo appeared with the rest of the girls, all dressed in their uniforms.
"Is everyone here?"
The girls glanced at one another as Ichika counted aloud.
"Toru, Momo, Himiko, Nejire-senpai… and the four new residents: Itsuka-san, Yanagi-san, Kodai-san, and Gonpachiro-san."
Kyouka raised her hand. "We're all here—wait, what?!"
"Alright then! I'll teleport everyone. Stay close!"
"Wait, who are you calling Gonpa—?!"
Before she could finish, Ichika used the Space Stone and teleported them all instantly.
The new residents were stunned when they suddenly reappeared on a rooftop.
"Huh?"
"This is..."
Ichika walked over to the rooftop door and opened it.
"Hey, everyone! This way!"
They followed him down the stairs, where Principal Nezu and the three homeroom teachers of the Hero Department were already waiting.
"Eh?"
Ichika's face turned pale. The others looked around, confused.
"Sorry, I just didn't want to be late on the first day," Ichika muttered, looking away.
"Falcon—Ichika," Lady Nagant scolded, "you should know it's forbidden to use your abilities on campus. Teleportation is also prohibited. You must use public transportation or your private service car."
"Ugh…"
"Yagi Ichika, report to my office," Nezu said.
Ichika sighed, already resigned to facing punishment on day one.
"Fine…"
Kyouka, clearly nervous, raised her hand.
"Uhmm... What about us?"
"You may all proceed to your designated classrooms."
The girls sighed in relief and walked past Ichika.
We're going now, Father. Roboco nodded at him.
"Hahaha! Experience from Ichika-kun! Let's all meet during lunch!" Nejire waved cheerfully.
"See you in class, Ichika-kun," Himiko smiled.
"Try to be friendly to your classmates this time," Toru reminded him.
"Don't cause trouble just because I'm not in your class," Momo added.
Kyouka and the other three girls watched silently, already sensing something strange about Ichika's relationship with the others.
Inside the principal's office, Nezu climbed onto his table and addressed Ichika. Eraserhead and Vlad King exited the room, leaving only Lady Nagant behind—they had to meet their respective classes.
"Falcon, I know you used to work as a Pro Hero, but you must be considerate of others. You should act as a proper role model for your fellow students."
Ichika looked a little guilty and nodded.
"Yeah… I'll do my best."
"As expected from someone who once viewed Pro Heroes as a bunch of clowns," Lady Nagant added dryly.
"Ugh!"
Ichika winced at the jab.
"As for your new class, Class 1-S, let me explain. It's technically an extra class. There are only four students, including you. Each pair will temporarily join another class."
"Huh? Then what's the point of my class if I'm just going to join another?"
"Well… President Mera of the Hero Commission has been hospitalized due to overwork."
Ichika froze. His face turned pale.
"Don't tell me…"
"Class 1-S is actually a cover for the President's Office. A large stack of paperwork is already waiting on your desk."
"Ugh!"
"Just like your father said: 'With great power comes a great amount of paperwork.' The Hero Commission needs you, Mr. President—Fujiwara Ichika."
Ichika slumped back in his chair and sighed.
"Such misfortune… Fine, I'll do it."
"Lady Nagant will act as your secretary, disguised as your homeroom teacher. You'll be attending Class 1-A with the android—"
"She's my daughter, and her name is Roboco!" Ichika snapped, his stare sharp.
Principal Nezu chuckled nervously and corrected himself quickly.
Lady Nagant raised an eyebrow, glancing at Ichika curiously.
"You and your daughter will attend Class 1-A, while Shinso Hitoshi and Toga Himiko will be placed in Class 1-B. And as you already know—you're strictly forbidden from using any of your special abilities or Quirks in school activities. Good luck, and welcome to UA, Captain Falcon!"
"Hahaha… I hope I don't get expelled," Ichika chuckled, half-joking.
"You'll attend your first class with Eraserhead."
"This is starting to feel more like college."
"Haha! You're not wrong, Falcon."
After leaving the office, Ichika changed into his PE uniform and headed to the training grounds. He suddenly remembered:
"Oh, right… The first period is the Quirk Apprehension Test. I already did mine. I guess I'll just observe."
While walking past the school building, he spotted someone hiding nearby.
"…Dad? What are you doing?"
"Huh? Ichika? Class already started—what are you doing here?"
"I had a meeting with the principal before heading to class." Ichika pointed at the students on the PE field.
"I see… I'm watching over Young Midoriya in secret. I hope she passes the test, but… it's Aizawa."
"Don't worry, Dad. I trained her too. We just need to believe in her."
Ichika crouched beside All Might, and the two watched Izuku running around the track.
Roboco had just finished her 50-meter dash, setting the best record in class.
Behind her was a tall, muscular student with short dark blue hair, frustrated that she had beaten his time—even with the help of his Quirk.
"2.86 seconds! This girl…" he clenched his fists in frustration.
Momo noticed Roboco looking distracted.
"What's wrong, Roboco?"
"Huh?" Toru walked up too.
Roboco pointed toward the two familiar figures hiding behind the building.
"I saw Grandpa and Father hiding over there."
Both girls turned to look.
"What are those two doing…?"
"Yeah… they really are alike. Like father, like son."
(To be continued.)
