Chapter 84: New Inventions

It was midnight when I arrived back home, with Himiko walking beside me. She had run away from her house after a fight with her parents, and I decided to bring her with me—since, well... it was kind of my fault.
"I'm back!" I called.
"Welcome back, Father," Roboco greeted us.
"How's Hecker?"
"She's already resting. We finished our tasks earlier."
"Thanks for the hard work."
As we entered the room, Himiko looked around with sparkling eyes, clearly thrilled to be in Might Tower, where the No. 1 Hero lived.
"Hey, Ichika-kun! Are you All Might's son or something?"
"Yeah, I'm his son, but he's currently teaching somewhere else."
"Wow, that's amazing!"
"Yeah, yeah. We'll prepare a room for you tomorrow, so stay in the guest room for now."
"This place is way comfier than my room."
I helped carry her luggage to the guest room, and Roboco brought her a fresh blanket. Before leaving:
"Himiko, we'll talk tomorrow. Make yourself at home. If you need anything, just ask Roboco."
"Okay!" she replied cheerfully.
"Goodnight."
"Goodnight too, Ichika-kun."
I nodded, closed the door, and headed back to my room to sleep.
The next morning, I woke up early and walked to my workshop, yawning.
"Good morning," I greeted.
Roboco was on the couch with Hecker napping on her lap.
"Good morning, Father. How was your patrol yesterday?"
"Boring… Rumi passed out when we met, and my other partners ditched me halfway through."
"That's awful."
"Anyway, where is everyone?"
"Still asleep."
"Got it. Please look after Himiko for now. I've got a company meeting and need to present my prototypes to the investors."
"Yes, but… those new android inventions…"
"It's fine."
I teleported using the space stone.
"Shazam!"
I transformed into my adult form, appearing on top of the building, where my subordinates were waiting.
"Mr. President, we've been waiting."
"Alright, let's start the presentation."
I pulled out my transparent-screen smartphone and began running several programs. My staff stood in awe of the advanced tech.
Inside the conference room, I walked straight to the front and sat at the head of the table.
"Good morning, everyone. Let's begin."
The atmosphere was heavy and serious, until one of them spoke.
"Mr. President, do you know how long the world's been waiting for you to release your inventions?"
"That's right! The funds are piling up. People want your robots!"
...
I was silent, hesitating. Honestly, I was unsure if releasing these androids was the right move. AI with too much autonomy could be dangerous. One misstep, and they could take over the world.
"Mr. President!"
"Ugh… Okay! Bring out our first product."
A beautiful girl with short pink hair and purple eyes walked in, wearing a pink sailor uniform.
"Hello! My name is Astolfo!" she introduced herself.
Everyone nodded, impressed by how lifelike she appeared—until one man stood up, clearly upset.
"Mr. President! This isn't what we funded! Where are the animal traits?! We didn't pay for just a regular-looking girl!"
I remained calm and answered seriously:
"Look under her skirt."
"Huh?"
"I said, look under her skirt. See for yourself."
Confused, he approached and hesitantly flipped it up.
"...What is this?"
His eyes widened in horror.
"I-It has a bulge! This isn't a girl—it's a boy!"
"WHAT?!"
Everyone gasped and turned toward me.
"Times are changing. Our company must adapt. This is the new trend—there's demand for this. I believe this product will sell well."
The room fell into stunned silence.
"...I'd like to order one unit," one investor said, raising his hand.
Everyone turned to him.
"See? It'll sell. Thanks for your support."
With no further complaints, I clapped my hands.
"Okay, next product! The one you've all been waiting for… the robot cat girl!"
A young girl walked in, with cat ears, a tail, and purple hair. She wore a black jacket and white pants.
"Mogu mogu! Okayu!" she said cutely.
Everyone froze. Then—
"Yaaayy! It's finally here!"
"It's real!!"
The investors jumped up, crying tears of joy.
Clap! Clap! Clap!
Suddenly, a female employee burst into the room, panting.
"Mr. President—this is bad!"
"What happened?" I stood up.
"The robots… they woke up and started rampaging through the building!"
"Who—?"
"OMAEEE!!! You're kidding me!!!"
"HA↗ HA↘ HA↗ HA↘ HA↗ HA↘ HA↗ HA↘!"
"YUBI YUBI!"
"A."
"HAHAHAHA!!"
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Explosions shook the building.
"Sorry, I'll be back in a minute."
I stepped out with the employee as chaos erupted.
Back in the room, the robot cat girl tilted her head.
"I'm hungry."
The investors screamed in joy.
"WOOOOAAAHHH!!"
