Marie and Sargon lay wrapped in each other's arms. Sargon kissed the tip of Marie's nose and held her closely as she slept. He hadn't planned to mark her so quickly, nor did he think it was even possible.
He felt the urge to mark her since the first day they spent time together. He wanted no one else but her. He had never felt so strongly about someone before.
He looked at the mark on her neck and smiled. He didn't think he even had a mate after not finding one for so long. He still wasn't sure how she could be his mate if she was a witch but that would have to be figured out at a later time. At the moment he simply enjoyed having her in his arms.
Marie slowly opened her eyes and smiled sleepily at Sargon. She shifted in his arms, getting even more comfortable in his embrace.
Everything this woman did, made Sargon want to smile.
"How are you feeling?" He asked as he ran his fingers through her messy tresses.
"Hmm, I am very sore all over my whole body, especially here." She said, reaching for the tender area where Sargon marked her.
"Wait right here." Sargon said as he left the bed, exposing his naked body. Marie couldn't help but fill her eyes with him completely.
When he returned, he held a small bottle and a cloth in his hands. He poured liquid out of the bottle and placed it on Marie's mark.
"This shouldn't hurt. It will heal you faster." He said as Marie let him take care of her.
"So, what does this mean now?" Marie asked.
"You mean the marking?"
"Yes. Is it different to how it is in your world?"
"Honestly, I am not sure if it is the same. I guess we will have to wait and see." He said as he applied more ointment to Marie's neck.
Hmm, mated to the Alpha. She thought as she lay in the bed, completely relaxed.
Sargon finished attending to her mark and put away his things then returned to where Marie lay. He took her hand in his and rested it on his lips as he looked at her.
"So, why didn't you tell me this was your first time?" He asked.
Marie's face became flushed.
"Well, I didn't think it was important. I wanted you just as much as I felt you wanted me, and things just happened. Everything felt right." She said.
"Well, it is important to me. You belong to me now. Everything about you matters to me." He said.
Marie's core tightened at his words. She reached for Sargon's face and pulled him in closely, kissing him as he brushed his fingers softly along her cheek.
"Since food was not an option last night, let's go have some breakfast. If we stay in this room, I cannot promise you I will keep my hands off of you."
Marie knew she needed to recover so she agreed. They both took a shower and got dressed for breakfast.
They left the room and head down to the kitchen. When they arrived, Sargon informed Mabel that they would have breakfast in the garden.
They walked along the pathway to the pavilion enjoying the scenery.
"Now that Vianna is better, I need to focus on Harold." Marie said telepathically to Sargon. She knew she still had to be very careful with her words.
"Yes, I understand but can you find a way to do it without having to leave?" He asked.
"I don't think I can. I must face Sybil at some point. I will do more research after breakfast and see what I can find. Right now, it is hard for me to trust anyone after what I saw in my dreams."
"Well, let me know if there is anything I can help you with. I have a meeting with the counsel this afternoon. We need to go over protective measures for the kingdom, but I can be available for whatever you need after."
"Focus on ruling your kingdom and I will focus on Harold. Your people need you and I seem to have you all to myself right now, though, I do not mind one bit." Marie said teasingly as she stared at Sargon seductively.
"You're right. Just make sure you are in my room tonight." He said, returning her gaze.
Just then, Mabel arrived with their meals.
"Your Majesty, you have a visitor." Mabel said after placing their trays on the table.
"I am not expecting anyone. Who is it? Sargon asked confused.
"It is Princess Dezerae. She says the matter is urgent." Mabel informed him.
Sargon and Marie looked at each other. Sargon seemed nervous and Marie appeared annoyed at the announcement.
"Relay to Princess Dezerae that I will be there in a moment." Sargon instructed as Mabel left the garden.
Marie became quiet after the notice of Dezerae's arrival. After seeing what she saw between Sargon and Dezerae, she didn't trust her at all.
"Are you going to have breakfast before I leave?"
"I am not very hungry anymore. Besides, I have research to do." Marie said, trying to hide her insecurity.
"You didn't eat last night." Sargon reminded her.
"I will be fine."
Sargon could tell Marie felt uncomfortable, so he didn't push the issue.
"Alright, let me walk you back inside."
Marie agreed as they both left the pavilion and walked towards the castle.
They walked past the kitchen and towards the lobby area where Dezerae and her guards were waiting.
Marie and Dezerae caught eyes for a moment as Dezerae looked at her from head to toe, then smirked.
Sargon walked Marie over to Dezerae to introduce them.
Princess Dezearae, this is Marie, Marie this is Princess Dezerae. Dezerae took Marie's hand in hers and shook it lightly. She had a very cocky energy about her.
Marie felt like this woman could not be trusted, but she needed to ignore her emotions so she could read her better. Jealously was a very powerful emotion and Marie couldn't let it cloud her judgement.
"The pleasure is all mine." Dezerae said as she released Marie's hand.
"Nice to meet you Princess. I will leave you two to your business. I have some business of my own to attend to."
"I shall see you later." Sargon said as Marie gave him a nod and walked away.
'Isn't that cute. Alpha Sargon has found a little lady of his own." Dezearae said as she walked towards Sargon.
"That is none of your concern Dezerae. What is so urgent that you have shown up unannounced?" He asked.
"Am I the enemy now Sargon? Do I not get to speak with you privately? I will behave. I promise." She said playfully.
"Very well, right this way." Sargon said as he led her to one of his meeting rooms.
