Chapter 53 - Quill With Endless Ink

"Wait then where the are they hiding?" Elijah asked fanatically, nobody missed the enthusiasm in his voice.

"You seem awfully excited to face something that could literally sneeze at us and wipe us out," Charlotte remarked.

"I mean, I've always wanted to face giant monsters, I can't let this chance go," Elijah said with fire in his eyes.

"This isn't a children's game," Finch said with stern authority, "This is a hoard of beast that could kill everything in this island."

"Kill joy..." Elijah muttered as he pursed his lips.

"Well, what are we waiting for?" Alex cut in.

"Alright, before you go lads, give this to that apprentice Sparrow," Narra said as he went out the room to grab a sword.

A Kris sword was presented to them, 3 feet in length, 3 inch wide at the base of the blade, as it narrowed down to the tip. Narra then wrapped it in cloth.

Elijah grabbed the sword with stars in his eyes as he is actually carrying a sword in his hands. The sword isn't as heavy as he expected and despite his untrained muscles, he's able to carry it well.

"Let's go, the village should be prepared to go out now," Finch ordered as he exited Narra's abode and the others followed, leaving Narra behind.

"Good luck on your endeavor lads, and return safe to the village!" Narra called out to them.

Finch nodded towards his friend as they turn to leave.

As they arrived at the village, Finch told the gang to meet up with the other apprentices, and Elijah reluctantly gave the sword to Sparrow.

With Datu Storm at the forefront, he gave a speech to his tribe, "Everyone! I know these are troubling times as the thunderbeast has been awaken earlier than it should've been. But fret not as we will once again put them back to their places!"

"YEAHH!!!!!!!"

Spears stomped the platforms, swords bashed the shields, bows held high as they screamed of bravery and courage. Warriors and apprentice alike screamed their hearts out.

The gang not knowing what to do, just yelled with the others. Except for Alex and Leslie, the former just couldn't be bothered while the latter just didn't want to participate.

Alex is currently reviewing their current information. 'These thunderbeasts, Finch said should be as big as a mountain when reaching adulthood, and they should have an 'affinity', as Elijah calls it, to lightning just like he does...'

Alex's train of thought were snuffed out as Elijah tap on his shoulder, "Hey bud, what you thinking about?" He asked.

"Oh nothing, I'm just reviewing the information we have on hand," Alex said.

"Loosen up bud, its so not like you to be this serious," Elijah remarked.

Alex chuckled and then a light bulb popped above his head as he remembered something.

"Call Kristin and Charlotte," Alex whispered to Elijah who barely heard it.

"Huh?" Elijah uttered confused.

"Let's meet up at the hut," Alex said to Elijah as he was about to ask Alex what's he talking about, but the moment he turned around, Alex is gone.

"Call Kristin, and... Charlotte? And go to the hut," He muttered to himself as he went to grab them.

Alex went to grab Leslie, who was also confuse by what the hell is happening as all Alex said "We'll meet up with the others at the hut." Then said nothing else and took Leslie by the wrist.

Leslie, understandably confused, could do nothing but follow Alex.

Once they arrived to the hut, Charlotte is waiting at the door, though it seems she's looking for something.

"Hey Charlotte, where's Elijah and Kristin?" Alex asked.

"I don't know, he just said to meet up at the hut and he's going to find Kristin," Charlotte replied, "Oh there he is." Charlotte pointed at Elijah who is walking with Kristin.

"Hey guys," Elijah waved.

"What is it Alex," Kristin asked in an irritated voice.

"Let's go inside first," Alex said as he entered the hut and the others followed suit.

"Alright Alex, spill." Kristin said impatiently.

Alex then pulled out the bag he received from his mom and pulled out a book and a quill, "It's the All Knowing Book and the Quill with Endless Ink. I never really got around to using it 'cus I always forget," Alex said as he scratched his head.

"Ohh the book, what does it do again?" Elijah said while holding his chin.

"Mom said it knows everything about this world, but I don't know if the information is up to date cuz this could may well be couple of millennia old in this world." Alex recalled what his mom told him.

"Well we should at least try, maybe start with asking if its updated with the newest info." Charlotte suggested.

"Or lets head directly to what we need to know right now and that is what the hell are these thunder beast, we barely know anything about them!" Kristin pitched in.

And then Elijah also joined in wanting to ask the book certain questions.

Leslie who's just watching in the background clapped her hands and soon everyone stopped talking, though with a grain of salt.

"Thanks Les, We need to be sure its up to date with info before we try to ask anything else." Alex announce as he poured magic into the quill and ink started to wet the tip of the quill and Alex began to write the first questions.
