Elias frowned as he surveyed the plains ravaged by flames. Not only was the scent of death still present, but craters and deep fissures in the ground demonstrated the power of these battles.
Caleb then said, "These fights must have stopped recently; that's probably why they didn't respond to us sooner!"
Isaac, feeling frustrated, replied, "But why didn't Roman ask us for help? He knows we would have come without hesitation to lend a hand."
Elias then remarked, "The Drakonits have always been a proud race, but Roman wouldn't put the lives of his people in unnecessary danger. So either he couldn't contact us, or he judged that they could handle this crisis on their own."
He added with a serious expression, "Let's not waste any more time here. Let's go ask him what really happened, and remember to use Axel's Rune to immediately spot any corrupted souls among them."
