Alex was happy that the Beast God seemed to accept his explanation fully, without much doubt on her end. Surely she had some questions, but she was keeping them all to herself. He couldn't help but wonder if this had something to do with Half-Gods being an open secret that the others weren't allowed to spread openly. Perhaps asking Alex would be the same as attempting to figure out more about the Half-Gods, and that would be problematic for her in the end.
"Well, I hope you will do well with these insects then, since we all clearly failed," the woman said.
"I was hoping to ask you about it actually," Alex said. "Do you have any idea how long I'll have to wait before they're done developing?"
Soulmother let out a laugh. "If I had that answer, it would mean that I had successfully developed them. And you know I didn't do that."
"…right," Alex said with some disappointment. "How long did you continue for before you gave up?"
"Some 2 decades," the woman said.
