Chapter 7 - Chapter 6

That was the saddest burial I had ever been to, I thought as I fell face-first onto my bed.

My mind was spiraling. I couldn't focus or think clearly about what I needed to do next. When I finally managed to think straight, I decided: I'd go home, return to school, figure out who the killer was, and then dish out karma.

I wore the clothes I had come here with—everything else was still at home.

Funny how life can change completely in one moment.

I knocked on my dad's door, and when he opened it, he examined me for a moment before letting me in.

"You're leaving again? I thought you'd learned your lesson," he said sternly.

"I actually learned that you shouldn't run from your problems," I replied.

"I know that. But what do you plan to do?" he asked.

"Well… I'm going to study. Maybe get a degree after," I said, trying to control my emotions. It was almost impossible. I bit my lip to hold it all in.
