She felt a chill run through her body and couldn't help but look back, seeing some unknown monster with a gaping maw chasing her, seemingly—seemingly a shark!
How could there be sharks in a freshwater lake?!
Instinctively, she opened her mouth to scream. In her panic, she lost balance and involuntarily sank a bit into the water.
The monstrous fish behind, which might or might not be a shark, bit towards her, but missed her and instead tore open her oxygen tank!
She only heard a faint sound, unsure if it was an illusion, as countless bubbles rose to the surface in the weak light of her flashlight. She felt as if her lungs were being strangled by an invisible hand, choking her, depriving her of any bit of oxygen!
A jolt of dread shot through her heart as the creature took another bite!
She had nowhere to hide this time.
