Hey there everyone, hope you're doing well. Like I promised I'm back with part 2 of this little mini arc. I anticipate this mini arc being about oh... 3 to 4 chapters, then it's onto the vytal festival and the rest of Volume 3's cannon story. I'm going to introduce an opening to this story for content. Just imagine in your head, the opening having the characters of this story in it... team Rwby, NDTSA, and JNPR.
The villains I think would be silhouetted until they're introduced officially into the story. Below will be the opening for the first half of Volume 3 in the story:
Boku no Hero Academia Op 1: The Day
Just think about the main cast of this story fighting the villains of this story for the animation in the opening. The opening scene of the opening would be Ruby looking toward the back of her boyfriend, Nova, before joining him. The split screen I'm thinking would be of Ruby and a certain villain who will be introduced very soon as they clash.
Anyways just some thoughts on the visuals in the opening before we start.

Chapter 19- Lost Heritage :Saiyan, not Faunus ?
With group B, they searched around the area. They made sure to check every nook and cranny they could find to see if there were any signs of life. Unfortunately, there were none... almost like the place was deserted. The teens came to the communication tower they were sent to find in the middle of the village. Turuk, being the de facto leader of the group, voluntarily went to check it... since no one else wanted to at the moment.
Weiss also went up the tower, using her glyphs, just to check on Turuk. Daikon floated up beside her, as he was also curious about this CCT tower. As they examined the tower, it was becoming increasingly clear that this tower was still in running order. Turuk raisedan eyebrow at this. That was odd. If the tower was still in running order, then why did this village... or rather HOW did they send out a distress signal? Something... wasn't adding up. The trio of teens made their way back to the ground, thoroughly confused about the situation.
Though it didn't make sense, there was one thing both Turuk and Daikon agreed upon. There was definitely something that just didn't add up.. something didn't feel right about this.
Perhaps some Grimm were responsible for the lack of communication? They surveyed the area to ascertain this but, when they saw the type of damage inflicted upon this village... it was clear Grimm could not cause the amount of destruction they saw. No, it had to be something else that caused this. There was no way Grimm could cause the sheer amount of destruction they were seeing, it had to be something else.
"Grimm wouldn't be able to do this much damage. Nor would they be capable of creating several meter deep craters and cause things to be burned, last I checked...," Turuk thought aloud.
"Well, If Grimm didn't do this.. what or rather who did?," Weiss asked.
The rest of the group knew Turuk had a point there. While the Grimm were certainly numerous, they didn't have the capability to cause damage of this scale to the surrounding area. They just didn't have that type of power, unless there was some new mutant kind of Grimm they'd never heard of before. But that was very unlikely.
"Ok..well, that begs the question. What did cause all of this damage then?," Yang asked.
While Yang & Weiss tried determining what the cause of this was, Turuk decided to have a look around the surrounding area. Daikon decided to tail him just to make sure he didn't get into trouble as he searched. As Turuk searched the area, his blood then ran cold as he came across something he wished he'd never seen.
There were piles of mangled up bodies that were contorted in ways that just weren't natural, and the smell... That smell is what caused Turuk to almost lose his lunch. It was like charred flesh mixed with sulfur. There was also blood everywhere! Some of the blood was drawn in arrows, these arrows were pointing up towards something... or someone. Yang had heard Turuk almost gag because of something, this caused her and Weiss to run over towards him in concern to see what was wrong. When Yang and Weiss arrived at the scene, they covered their mouths in attempt avoid throwing up. The scene before their eyes horrified them.
What they saw was not unlike something out of a nightmare or horror film as they had to resist the urge to throw up. The 4 teens looked up and their faces almost turned blue in horror at the scene in front of them. There were bodies impaled on parts of building or mangled up in unnatural ways and burned by something, and there were pools of blood everywhere!
Turuk's shock turned to anger when he saw the one who was presumably responsible for this massacre. It was a green humanoid figure with green skin, pointed ears, and... antanea? Hundreds of soldiers surrounded him, and they all had their weapons trained on the group of teens. When Turuk realized what they were doing, he snap vanished in front of Yang and deflected an incoming blast intended to end her life. The soldiers fired more of the lasers, only to have Turuk and Daikon deflect every single shot of theirs, the lasers exploding upon contact with other solid objects in the area away from the group.
Turuk balled his fingers into fists, he was angry now and ignited his ki to make his intentions clear towards these soldiers. The green skinned man smirked at this and then signaled for the soldiers to charge at the advancing teen.
"Seems someone is rather eager... Teach this son of a Saiyan the meaning of pain!," the man said.
Yang, Weiss, and Daikon recognized Turuk was about to do something reckless and jumped in to help him fend off these soldiers. Turuk recognized that there was no need to go all out simply because these soldiers movements were so... slow compared to what he was used to. Although he was holding back, he still dealt crippling and sometimes lethal blows to the soldiers. Turuk didn't even care about the blood being spilled by his bare hands. It was more that he ignored it, due to him being angry... being blinded by rage at what these men had done to these villagers. Yang noticed this and was growing concerned about him.
After all, whether she admitted it or not... that was her man, and she didn't like what she was seeing.
"Turuk... this.. isn't like you. What happened?," The blonde brawler thought sadly.
She then heard something over the sounds of the battle and it made her blood boil in anger.
"(Chuckling) Yes! That's right saiyan, get angry! See where that anger gets you! I want to see more of that fury of yours! Then our real battle can begin!," the green skinned man laughed.
Yang was apalled at what she heard. He wanted Turuk to get angrier all so he could have a fight with him?! That didn't make sense to her and it seemed like a petty reason for such an elaborate set of circumstances. But there was one thing that thoroughly confused her. The green skinned man with antanea wanted to kill Turuk for some reason.
"Why does this guy want to kill Turuk? He hasn't done anything to him!," Yang thought confused.
And there was one other thing, he called Turuk a saiyan. She was confused. What was a saiyan? She thought Turuk was a Faunus.. so why was he being referred to as a saiyan?
"There's got to be some kind of explanation to this. What does he mean by Saiyan?," Yang thought.
That was the thought on both her and Weiss' mind as they fended off the soldiers, but they could worry about that later. Yang definitely had some questions for Turuk regarding this Saiyan business, but right now, she needed to find a way to calm him down and fast.
With Group A...
The soldiers with the weird blaster gauntlets opened fire upon Nova, Ruby, Jaune, and Pyrrha. While Nova & Ruby were able to deflect the blasts with relative ease, Jaune & Pyrrha had a little more difficulty doing so since they weren't used to dealing with energy blasts. The pair both used their shields while coating them with their Aura to fend off the blasts.
To help their friends, Nova & Ruby went to work plowing through the enemy soldiers. The silver eyed girl even mixed in some dust shots from her sniper scythe to help plow through the horde of soldiers. Ruby was against killing people weaker than she now was, so she would just clothes line them with her arm or stun them with dust filled shots from her rifle instead. As she came to the middle of the horde, Ruby stuck Crescent Rose into the ground like a flagpole before shifting to martial arts/Ki usage instead. There was no better time to put all of the training she had undergone with Nova to the test.
This would be a good test for her. She'd test how well she could defend herself from enemies that wanted to hurt her enough to knock her out or.. hurt her enough to capture her. The silver eyed girl exhaled, then slipped into a stance taught to her by Nova. She then backpeddled until she was back to back with her boyfriend. The pair smirked at each other before the horde of enemies came at them, they fought back to back. Enemies were sent hurtling backwards as the couple worked perfectly in sync with each other, taking care to cover each other's blind spots. The way in which Ruby & Nova worked together, it was like a tornado or twister had touched down to the ground. The two martial artists worked together with the combined force akin to a small hurricane.
Seeing this, Jaune & Pyrrha decided to step up their coordination. They weren't going to let Nova & Ruby outdo them everytime. The two worked well together, while still in awe of how seamlessly the saiyan and the silver eyed girl worked together as a team. Perhaps if the situation weren't so life threatening, it would've been really cute seeing those two lovebirds fight together as a team.
"Rubes, get closer to me. There's something I'd like to try. If it works, we can get rid of all of these guys.," Nova said.
Ruby looked at her boyfriend and nodded. She didn't question it, because she knew better by now. Ruby knew when he had an idea, it was better just to trust in Nova, because it would eventually work out for everyone's benefit. She backed off from fighting for a few moments and looked to Jaune & Pyrrha before warning them.
"Jaune! Pyrrha! You two may want to back up and... hold onto something! Nit sure what Nova's got planned, but I don't think you want to be where you are right now!," She called out in warning.
The blonde and ginger nodded in understanding as they did as instructed. They may not understand what the warning meant, but they trust both Ruby & Nova. Ruby most likely was right about Nova planning something big, they had faith in her after all. In their opinion, Ruby knew what she was talking about if it concerned her boyfriend, Nova.
Jaune & Pyrrha readied their shields and anchored them to the dirt, while digging their heels into the ground to brace for impact. Pyrrha then used her semblance of polarity to attract anything metal around them in an effort to anchor them to the ground. Whatever Nova planned to do, it would be big. Nova could see that everyone was prepared now, he nodded back to them. Not missing a beat, the dark saiyan ignited his ki around him until it enveloped him in a vibrant blue Aura.
Crossing his arms in an "X" shape, he further gathered his ki in towards himself. Not a moment later, he violently thrust his arms outward with a primal yell as gale force winds erupted from the spot he stood upon. This was followed by a brilliant and blinding golden light as the hordes of soldiers who were charging at the 4 teens were blown off their feet and hurtled in various directions from the impact of the light and gale force winds. The ground also shook like a large earthquake was taking place from what Nova just did.
The force caused all of the grass around where Nova & Ruby stood to be burned away, as well as shatter any boulders in the immediate area. A small crater was formed beneath the area in which Nova & Ruby were standing at the center of the blast.
Nearby...
Blake and her group felt the ground shake, due to Nova's power. They also felt the massive gusts of wind from the blast and saw several bodies flying over their heads before landing hard enough to form little craters away from them. Then came the debris that was cleared away from the display of power as it landed I front of them and sometimes even buried the bodies of the soldiers that flew over their heads before landing. The cat faunus knew that had to be her brother. She knew better than anyone what his power felt like.
"Nova.. what exactly is going on over there?," Blake wondered in concern.
Scarlett turned to her before smiling at the faunus.
"Ah, I wouldn't worry about it Blake. Your brother's got it covered, I'm sure they're alright over there. Nova probably just went a bit overboard is all.," Scarlett assured her.
"If you say so, Scarlett.," Blake sighed.
"Yeah, come on. We need to keep looking.," Scarlett said as the group turned it's attention back towards the forest and the surrounding caves.
Back with Group A...
Following the worst of the impact passing, Pyrrha & Jaune stood back up to their feet. They looked around to see that there were several places that were burning... or were charred black from Nova's attack. The soldiers who were left were scared out of their minds, they were crawling away in fear of him.
It was confusing some of the soldiers as to how the boy was so strong, because when they scanned his power level it was only at 3000. However when they checked again, it couldn't read it. Almost as though his power level was now to high to be read. How was that possible?
Cui chuckled at this. Simpletons really were relying entirely too much on the scouters they had.
"You dolts! No wonder you're so spooked! A true saiyan never reveals his true power right away, that's why you were so easily fooled! A true saiyan warrior's average power level is probably in the neighborhood of around 60,000. He purposely hid his true strength from you.," Cui said.
Ruby's eyes widened in surprise. She always had a feeling Nova was abnormally strong, but she had no idea he'd be this strong. Nova just simply nodded to her, Ruby knew immediately what that meant. Ruby went back and grabbed her dust weapon, soon after.
Taking up Crescent Rose, Ruby led the other soldiers away along with Jaune and Pyrrha. This was in order for Nova and Cui to have enough space to fight. The saiyan appreciated the gesture from his girlfriend, that was just one of the things he appreciated about her.
"Very impressive, Saiyan. But let's not kid around, we both know that was a far cry from your real power, wasn't it?,"Cui said smirking.
"😌 Perhaps. But are you sure you want my full power? You may regret that request later... unless you're dead that is.," Nova said confidently.
Cui laughed at this as he spoke.
"Oh dear, the saiyan thinks he's a comedian now does he? You shouldn't be talking like that if you cannot back up your words. Which I doubt you can,saiyan.,"Cui replied.
Nova shifted into his martial arts stance as he smirked back at Cui.
"Well, we'll just have to see about that...won't we?," Nova responded.
He continued.
"And besides, who said that was everything I had?," He said smiling.
"Heh, you may be powerful for a kid.. but I can't imagine your power going past 90,000., " Cui said Chuckling.
Nova inwardly chuckledat this, Cui was underestimating him. Now, he would fully embarrass him for doing so. He would enjoy the sheer look of terror on Cui's face once he raised his power to a level that couldn't be read or measured. He'd play this game of his just to make this jerk feel good about himself before shattering that pride of his completely.
The blue skinned alien readied himself as he brought out his ki in a burst of blue aura that caused some wind to pick up and dust to fly around. Nova casually brought his ki out and slipped into a stance he'd been taught from childhood.
The blue alien the rocketed towards the dark saiyan, who half heartedly matched his speed as their fist collided. The ground and air shook from the impact as the crater below the two fighters widened. Both fighters then tried the same action with their free hand, resulting in the same. Sparks of electricity raced across their limbs as they snap vanished, only for both to reappear in a kicking position with both of their extended legs crossing. The environment continued to shake as Nova used his free leg to knee Cui in the face.
Cui howled in pain and tried lunging at the saiyan, only to get nailed in the face again twice as hard courtesy of a foot. The impact from this blow launched the alien into the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust from a new crater. Cui sprang up from the ground and launched himself back towards the saiyan before delivering a blow of his own. The dark saiyan felt his stomach light up in pain from the blow Cui dealt to him from kneeing him in the gut. The alien then vanished again before reappearing to kick him in the back.
The alien kept vanishing as he punched and kicked the saiyan from every angle before axe kicking the saiyan to the ground. He chuckled, thinking he'd defeated Nova.
"What's wrong, saiyan? Is that all there is to you?,"He taunted.
Nova shook his head before massaging his shoulder ashe stood to his feet again, much to Cui's disbelief. Nova then did something rather unexpected, he closed his eyes as there was a peculiar midnight colored Aura surrounding his body. Cui was confused about this until Nova used this to launch himself back towards the alien. Although he'd never displayed it, Nova did have a semblance like everyone else did. His semblance was shadow, meaning he could manipulate shadows to his advantage. It gave the illusion that he'd disappear when he really warped the space around him to manipulate his shadow.
When Cui swiped at him, it was like he wasn't there. Confused as to where the teenaged Saiyan went, Cui searched for his power level using his scouter. This proved fruitless as he rembered that beings such as saiyans could mask and even disguise their power, so he had no idea where Nova went. However, Nova reappeared in a burst of speed from seemingly out of nowhere before sommersaulting and double missile kicking Cui into the ground. Because of the impact of the saiyan's surprise attack, Cui never had time to brace himself for slamming into the ground.
Boom!
The ground shook again, even more violently this time due to the sound of Cui impacting the ground. He dug a trench after skidding on the ground before his momentum stopped upon his body making a giant crater in the ground. Climbing up from the crater, he had smoke coming off of him due to parts of his armor being burned off due to the friction from his descent to the ground. He didn't understand this at all.. How was this... saiyan beating him?! He couldn't have had a power level over 90,000! So how? The Alien exploded in a burst of fury, allowing his ki to rise to threatening levels. While it was enough to give a normal person pause, it was nothing compared to Nova's power. A fact the Saiyan was eager to remind him of.
He ascended into the air and glared at the saiyan. This didn't make any sense! How was the boy this strong?!
"You know... that's a good look for you, fish face. Oh I'm sorry, you said you name was Cui right?," Nova said smugly.
Cui was not amused. Now more than anything, he wanted to put this upity Saiyan brat in his place. He'd teach this filthy saiyan monkey a lesson, he wouldn't forget.
" You'll regret that. Know your place, filthy Saiyan monkey!," Cui said exasperated.
Nova felt his eyebrow twitch at the insult, for some unknown reason bei g called a monkey was particularly annoying. Though... he didn't know why, he knew that he definitely didn't like being referred to as a monkey. Now he really wanted to embarrass this jerk before he finished him off.
Even from a distance, Ruby could tell that Nova wasn't very happy about something. If anything, he was really annoyed. That didn't bode very well for the person he was fighting typically. She did happen to overhear what Cui called Nova, and she began to sweat upon hearing what he was called.
" 😨 That's not good... Nova hates being called that. Hopefully, Nova will calm down after this.," Ruby thought a little concerned and with a bead of sweat going down the back of her head.
Back with Nova, he wanted to absolutely humiliate Cui in the worst way possible. Then again... he was sort of doing that the whole time he had been fighting him, hadn't he? No, thus time... he'd crush him. That was probably his saiyan nature talking, but for once he'd agree with it. This guy needed to go.
When the two resumed fighting, Cui felt like he was gaining ground and beginning to turn the tide. Unfortunately, Nova was hardly trying at all. He'd let this go on for another few moments, before shattering Cui's confidence and soundly beating him. The Saiyan wanted his opponent to think he had a chance at victory before just as easily snatching it and letting them know they really didn't have a chance to begin with. Nova was being attacked from every which direction and it looked bleak for him, those who knew him though knew better.
"This is farewell, saiyan!," Cui said about to deliver what he thought would be the final blow.
He blasted Nova point blank, for a second it looked like Cui had won. However... it was not meant to be as he found out a few moments later.
"Hah! I told you, learn your place monkey! Never mess with me-e?," Cui started bellowing until the smole of the explosion cleared.
Standing there, was Nova as he just stared at him with a deadpanned look.
"You done yet? Had your little moment of victory, fish face?," Nova asked as he stared with an unamused face at him.
Jaune and Pyrrha looked worried before they saw what happened. They were rather confused, while Ruby was seen wheezing in laughter at the situation.
"*snorts* You actually thought a tiny blast like that would do in my boyfriend? Bwa ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! *snorts* That's just- *snorts again and continues laughing*😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
She then gets up and wipes away tears from laughing so hard. Ruby smirks as she turns to Jaune & Pyrrha.
"Nova is too strong for something as small as that to do him in. Just watch and learn, you're about to see glimpse into just how strong Nova really is.," She said smirking.
Nova looked back to Cui who had a face filled with horror at what just happened.
"W-What?! But how? I put everything I had into that, and still it was nothing to you?! This is a fluke! There's no way!," Cui said sputtering in disbelief.
Nova smiled darkly at him before responding.
"Nah, it's real alright. Sorry to say this, but I've actually been holding back quite a bit of power. I wanted to see how strong you were, Cui. Unfortunately, that was a big disappointment.," Nova said as he ignited his Ki.
He let it rise to levels above normal so his opponent could truly grasp just how outclassed he was. Nova then used his shadow semblance to quick appear and and disappear while dealing heavy heavy blows to the alien, nit even giving him time to recover. When he hit him in the gut initially, he chased him down and hit him again. It might have looked hilarious to someone watching from the outside seeing Cui get tossed around hit around like a volleyball. Despite his best efforts to, Cui had no time to react.after getting hit because he'd get hit even harder the next time just a split second later.
Deciding that he'd had enough fun with him, Nova then opted to just end the fight. The saiyan appeared directly in front of Cui with his palm in front of his face. The Alien was still reeling from the beating he took just a second ago and had no time to dodge or put up a defense against the large blast the saiyan had gathered into his palm.
"Nighty night, fish face. HAAA!!!!!," Nova said as he unleashed the wave of energy he had stored up.
The giant wave of Ki completely vaporized the Alien as he was frozen in place while the blast consumed him. Nova then lowered his hand after the blast had subsided. Seeing the fight was over, Ruby then hovered and landed next to her boyfriend. She ran and hugged him, soon after. This left a very bewildered Jaune and Pyrrha to process the events that just occurred in front of them. Pyrrha was the first of the 2 to recover of course as she voiced the questions running through both her and Jaune's brains.
"Not to interrupt you two, but can we ask you something Ruby?," Pyrrha asked.
"Sure. What is it, Pyrrha?," Ruby asked.
Pyrrha wasn't quite sure how to put it, so she was just honest with Ruby. She was their friend so she was sure the silver eyed girl would understand what she was asking.
"How... long have you been able to do that?," The gladiator asked curious.
Ruby raised an eyebrow in confusion, unsure as to what she meant by her question.
"Do what? I'm not sure I understand what you mean, Pyrrha.," Ruby replied.
Pyrrha then further explained so Ruby would understand fully what she was attempting to ask her.
"You know, Float or... is it flying? How long have you been able to fly?," She asked.
Now Ruby understood. If that's all she wanted to know, she didn't see any problem with telling her. After all, she could trust Pyrrha & Jaune.
" Ohh... that. I'd say... just since Nova kun started training me. So it's more of a recent thing I learned how to do than anything, I'm still trying to get the feel for it.," Ruby said.
Jaune & Pyrrha didn't really have a response to what Ruby just revealed to them as they were still trying to process it. Refocusing, the teens decided they needed to try and regroup with the others. They had a feeling that potentially something very bad could happen if they didn't find the others quickly.
Back with Group B...
Turuk and the others had eventually managed to beat back the other soldiers. It had taken awhile, but finally it was now just them and the green skinned intruder. Yang could tell Turuk was still not quite himself, she needed to get him to focus on the enemy in front of them. In a surprise move she turned his face to look at her and slam her own forehead against his.
"💢 Snap out of it, Turuk!," She yelled through gritted teeth as she slammed her forehead against his.
Sure enough, this seemed to do the trick as Turuk had come out of whatever trance he was in while grabbing his throbbing forehead.
"Gah! Ow! My forehead! What the- Yang? What was I- ," Turuk said grabbing his head before he was interrupted.
Yang didn't care if the others were watching, she was relieved that Turuk was back to his senses. The Blonde brawler immediately hugged the saiyan and buried her face into his shoulder.
"I'm.. glad you're okay now Turuk. You had me really worried there, idiot.," Yang said slightly upset.
Turuk didn't say anything, but he felt Yang crying into his shoulder. He was disgusted with himself, to make a girl (even if it was Yang) worry to the point of crying was inexcusable.
"Really well done, Turuk... You made even Yang cry over you.," He thought to himself.
He then looked at the girl and smiled at her, before taking her hand and striking himself with it.
"Thanks, Yang. I needed that. Oh, and sorry for worrying you, I'll make it up to you at the festival I promise.," Turuk said.
"😏 hmm? So you're asking me out, huh?," Yang playfully teased.
"Huh... guess I never thought of it that way. But sure, whatever you want.," Turuk said.
Yang had to do double take, was he serious? She was just teasing him to see what he'd say. She didn't actually mean for him to agree.
"Um... Turuk, you do know i- you know what, never mind.," Yang said stopping herself.
"Think of it as my way of making it up to you. I owe you for making you worried enough to shed tears over me.," Turuk replied.
Yang had to turn away temporarily due to the furious blush that had adorned her face. She wasn't expecting that from Turuk. Usually it was herself that was the bold one, this time, it was the opposite. Though she didn't say anything, Yang smiled at the saiyan. He'd surprise her every so often, and this was one of those times. She could get used to that. Refocusing, Yang readied herself alongside Turuk.
The green skinned man now laughed as he saw Turuk had returned to his right mind.
"Ah finally awake, eh Saiyan?,"He said smugly.
The figure leapt down and now stood in front of the teens with his arms crossed. Whoever this guy was,they needed to deal with him quickly. There felt like there was another strong power out there and Turuk was personally hoping, they wouldn't have to deal with them. He had no idea how strong the opponent in front of his group was, so he'd rather not have to fight 2 enemies at once. They needed to return to Beacon so they could report their findings, but until they dealt with this guy in front of them, there was no way of escaping.

Hey guys, hopefully you enjoyed the chapter. I hope I did okay with the fight scenes... seeing as I'm not the best at intricately detailing them in writing lol. As you can tell by the title, the next chapter will have a larger focus on Group B and their fight with Slug.
Thought I'd add in some bonding between Turuk and Yang, just to give their relationship a little more depth before I start taking it
in the direction I envision. So yes, this will probably start Yang's attraction to Turuk. But it will take a bit so don't worry I'm not rushing it.. though it may seem so at times. I assure you, I have a plan in mind for Turuk x Yang. Aiko will have a pairing,don't worry... it's just.. later on. Have to build the ground work for it first 😆.
