Chapter 27 - Chapter 26. 77,000 XP

" Hector, when we return to the village and prepare to conquer the Abyss cavern, I want all the information you know about the other races and monsters living there. Now, let us continue training." Said Thorzen.

"Yes, chief." Said Hector.

Thorzen walks to the center of the coliseum and transforms into an orc. He drew his twin blades and took a battle stance. An orc with a great ax stood before Thorzen. Prime moves towards Thorzen.

"No, stay back! This is my fight!" Yelled Thorzen. Thorzen charged forward, swinging his right sword arm at the orc's midsection. Clang! The orc blocked the attack with his great ax. Thorzen swings his left sword arm at the orc's head. Clang! The orc blocks with his great ax. The orc swings his great ax in a circular motion and brings his great ax down onto Thorzen. Clang! Thorzen manages to block with his twin swords. Thorzen takes a step back.

"Dang, this orc is good! Let's see if he can handle this!" Yelled Thorzen.

Thorzen brings both swords up, one pointing towards the orc, one pointing up. "Stone strike!"Yelled Thorzen. A brown light with runes appears on his sword, pointing up. The light expands out and then compresses, almost disappearing. As the light shrinks, Thorzen points his sword at the orc, and then one hundred stone shards appear at the end of the sword. The one hundred stone shards fly forward at lightning speed to the orc. Zing! The orc attempts to block the shards with his great ax, but the shards rip through the great ax and pierce the orc. Wack! Thwack! 90% of the stone shards hit the orc's body; its body was littered with holes. You could see straight through the holes. The orc falls to the ground and disappears.

"Congratulations, you gained 200 XP." Chimed Athena.

"Haha. That was easy!" Exclaimed Thorzen. "Wow! Chief is strong!" Said Fan. "Yes, Chief is strong." The others agreed.

"Let's continue. The warriors are up front range in the middle, and the Assassins are at the rear. This is our basic formation. Prime to the rear. You and Guy will protect the rear. Guy, you will help any frontliner who needs help, then return to the rear. Prime only comes to the front lines if it's dire. I want to test them while we train. So stay back as much as possible. I will be in the middle as ranged support. Any questions?" Said Thorzen.

"No chief!" yelled the group. As they got into formation, they noticed the formation of twenty people: 15 Troglodytes, 3 Orcs, and 2 Kobolds.

"2-1, we got this," said Thorzen.

The timer appears. 10,...,3,2,1 start. The battle begins.

"They look to be all melee except for the two goblins!" The Warriors advance and hold as many of the warriors as possible. Fan and I will take out the goblins. Guy, watch our backs, Prime, and hold off as many warriors as possible along with the others! Attack!"Ordered Thorzen.

Fan begins an incantation, and a black, gloomy circle surrounds Fan. "Spawn of chaos, the embodiment of evil, creature that dwells in the Abyss, I summon you to do my bidding! Come forth, Dretch!" Chanted Fan. The black circle rises above Fan moves ten feet forward of her and lands on the ground. The encircled ground turns pitch black, and a creature's hands appear to be emerging out of the darkness. Hands with long, sharp claws grasp the ground and pull its body out. A grey hairless body emerges from the ground, looking like a bear, its face grotesque with a flat pig nose and sharp, long teeth; its ears are long and pointy, sticking straight out from each side of its head. "Go, Dretch, attack my enemies!" Yelled Fan.

The demon Dretch jumps up and lands on one of the goblin archers. The goblin tries to scramble away from the demon but is pinned down by its claws. The demon bites the goblin's neck, tearing it apart with its long, dagger-like teeth. Rip! Blood gushed out of its neck, and then the goblin burst into light as its body disappeared. Fan directs Dretch to attack one of the warrior orcs.

Thorzen starts to chant Stone Strike. Thorzen brings both swords up, one pointing towards the goblin, one pointing up. "Stone strike!"Yelled Thorzen. A brown light with runes appears on his sword, pointing up. The light expands out and then compresses, almost disappearing. As the light shrinks, Thorzen points his sword at the goblin, and then one hundred stone shards appear at the end of the sword. The one hundred stone shards fly forward at lightning speed to the goblin. Zing! The goblin attempts to dodge the shards, but the shards rip through the goblin as if he were paper, shredding him. Wack! Thwack! 90% of the stone shards hit the goblin's body; its body was littered with holes. You could see straight through the holes. The goblin crumbles to the ground, and the body turns to light and disappears.

Prime and the others hold off the enemy warriors as the battle continues. Thorzen and Fan concentrate their attacks on the same enemies, destroying them one by one until they are all dead.

"Congratulations, your team gains 2200 XP. Each member gains 220 XP. Prime is not included." Chimed in Athena.

"220 XP each, hmm. That doesn't seem like much XP, but if we battle 25 times a day at 220 XP for 14 days, we will get 77,000 XP by the end of our training. That adds up to a fat amount of XP." Exclaimed Thorzen.

"Yes, and we will all become stronger!" Yelled Zak.

"Haha, that's right, we will be more powerful after training." Chuckled Thorzen.

Everyone lets out a loud cheer of excitement! "Woop! Hooray! Woohoo!"

When the group wasn't battling, they meditated, rested, or leveled their skills and professions.

System quest: advance to apprentice alchemist. Rewards: 10,000 XP, 100 skill points, 50 attribute points, 500 gold coins.

The group of 10, not including Prime, got their 77,000 XP. Thorzen received an additional 24,000 XP—10,000 from the quest and 14000 from the potions he made. Thorzen leveled from 10 to 15, the 5 Sentinel Generals leveled from 1 to 10, the three kobolds leveled from 7 to 12, and Torax leveled from 10 to 14.
