The next morning it was Judy's shift to do parking duty, so after I spied on her for a moment, without notice, I caught up to her but all of a sudden a weasel came out of a shop and a pig told Judy to capture him.
"I'm on it, Sir!" I saluted and dashed after the weasel. Judy saw me and ran towards me as well, with a smile.
"Well, nice to see you again pal!" Judy remarked.
"Same to you, too Judy!" I smirked.
We ran into Rodentia and kept on chasing him. 'OH, you got to be kidding me.' I thought. We then hopped over hamster buildings saving a population while at it since there was a building wobbling almost killing them in the process but we both stopped to set it back safely. After that minor rescue we resumed back to our chase.
"STOP IN THE NAME OF THE LAW!" We both shouted at him. He didn't listen but we kept at pace with him.
"Let go of the bag, Weselton!" Judy yelled at him, which I knew she said it wrongly.
"It's Weaselton!" He cried out and kept running, while I face palmed myself at this convo. 'At least say his name right, Judy.' I thought. But then we were in the middle of the Hamster's Square with a big donut as indicator. Judy then had an Idea in mind but I knew there wasn't any other pay-free option. So she grabbed it trying to hit the weasel. He ducked, dodged and maneuvered until, he bumped onto me as I did a roundhouse kick towards him, as a trap for him. Judy then used the donut as a double handcuff since she wasn't given any, which concerned me. 'Why didn't they give her something proper?' I thought but shook it off.
We then headed for the ZPD and I noticed a Cheetah with a surprising impression on his face on the front counter when the doors busted open due to Judy kicking the donut into the building with a victory cry.
"Pop goes the weasel!" She said, hands on hips.
"HOPPS!" Just when I walked in, a Cheif buffalo then shouted at her, pointing to maybe his office. I frowned.
I followed the duo closely behind them still contemplating of what has Judy done to get this treatment. All she did was help the pig owner. Unless...i gasped. This is discrimination. I then took a mental note of that. Maybe I would use it as word against his, someday. We then reach his office but chief 'Bogo' as they say, told me to stay out of it and wait in the waiting corner, since he knew I was a detective because I told him.
"This should be talked between two police officers, and you don't work here." He boomed. My ears flattened onto my back as I stared at Judy seeing her face to the ground. I didn't want it to be out of hand so I just sat and waited.
After what I felt like hours, I see a female otter. She seemed in a hurry, her fur out of place, until I saw a cheetah run closely behind to...stop her? Now that got my attention. I hopped of my seat and too a peek along with him. I narrowed my eyes at this. What is up with...
"Bogo!" The cheetah exclaimed slamming the door open.
"C-CLAWHOUSER! CAN'T YOU SEE I'M BUSY!" He shouted getting tired of this, and Judy just sat there astonished as a young female otter slid right inside.
"I'm so sorry! I know you said for her to wait but she was so slippery and...fast and...I'm tired...I gotta go sit down!" Clawhouser exclaimed dramatically, with heavy pants.
"Mrs. Otterton! Look, I'm so-"
"Please!" I hear the female otter say to Bogo, my ears then went up to attention. "Please, chief Bogo I'm begging you please let there be someone to take the case to find my Emmit..." She exclaims as she rumages with her paws in her pockets then shows it him desperately when she found it, "His name is Emmit Otterton! He's been missing for a week now and...I'm worried...so please there has to be someone!" She cried. I couldn't take it anymore and so I stood up for her whether I'm a detective for her or not, I'm helping, "I'll take the case...and so is my sister." I said then frowned meaning, towards the buffalo butt, as our eyes met. Mrs. Otterton saw me with glee in her eyes and hugged me.
"Then I'll go too!" Judy exclaimed, "I'll take the case." The otter hugged her too.
"Oh, bless you! Here take this... And bring my baby back!" We both nodded, "We won't let you down!"
As the otter stated her last thanks she then closed the door, with me out the room with her, smirking at buffalo butt. Bogo glared at me and then when the door closed shut, he sighed then said in an outrage within the room, which I could also hear because I have good hearing, "You're...FIRED!" I heard him say to Judy with a gasp. She then exclaimed, "What! Why?"
"FOR INSUBORDINATION!" I shivered as I heard them speak. Cheif Bogo then replied in a low but dangerous tone, which I could totally hear from the outside, "Now you tell that otter that you are not a real cop only someone in a costume and that you that you will not be taking the case!" Right before I saw his shadow walking towards the door a lamb popped right next to me standing in veiw. When the door opened though...
"I just heard that Judy Hopps as taken her first case!"
My ears went up, with with anger boiling inside of me. Her first case! What has my sister been doing in here, then?!
"Assistant Mayor, Bellwether!" Bogo turned to her with a tone so sweet as if things have been going oh so, swimmingly. I was surprised that they had a lamb as a deputy mayor! I then smiled as I heard the lamb right beside me mumbling things to herself and sent the message to the mayor that Juddy will be taking the case despite the chief's pleas.
"There...done, and sent it!" She said excitedly, "I'm so proud of you Officer Hopps, congratulations! Oh and by the way," she stated. As she was about to leave to do something else that is mayorly, she told Judy, "You've always got a friend at the ZPD!" AWW how sweet of her. I then smirked again and left the room again waiting...again, for Judy to be released. A few mins past and the door opened, to reveal a bright eyed Judy.
"Come on let's go! It's my first case! Clawhouser is waiting..." She exclaimed as I then rolled my eyes at her expression.
We then reached the desk and asked for the file. The file then looked familiar to me and it hit me when they finally have opened it. I KNOW HIM! I jumped in shock. Wait...if they had this, then, how did Leo get this file, as well? I rethought this, as I lowered my ears.
"Come on, follow me." I told Judy hurriedly.
"OK, coming, I'm coming!" She whined as she ran after me.
