Leo an Arctic fox was a friend of mine when we were at detective school but he dropped out of it because he had to do something for his family. Come to think of it, he never said anything about his family alot. So right now as if in coincidence I get to see him again after all these years. Apparently, I am speeding through the bustling streets packed with all sorts of wild creatures and lots of aggressive animals but I know it's how they survive. Zootpoia is also about surviving and sometimes can't stop their urge. I mean I did read somewhere that they used to put on these collars of some sorts. The collars were there to stop the wild animals from reverting back to their 'ways'. To me it's good that they did that, but isn't there another way? I mean not to be harsh towards them? Because when I became friends with wild and tame creatures big or small we were perfectly in harmony. So the thing here is really, not to judge others by their appearance because you'll never know if you would befriend someone who would be loyal to you from beginning to end, such as Leo.
As I was still hovering through the Sahara deserts, Tundra Town, Tuhanga and so much more, then reached the main streets, I spotted a red fox with green emerald eyes but his lids went half way down, and a bushy red tail, walking on a pathway. He saw me simply because I was seemingly the fastest hover board rider out of all the animals in this street. He saw and locked eyes with mine orange ones. Before I might have went under some trance I shook myself awake and looked back on the road.
I then reached a certain mansion quite lonely looking out of all the other houses surrounding this one. This building stood tall, almost like a haunted house with a wired fence that over looked the car park inside though, with an eerie aura radiating out of it. I then went in with a high head and confidence.
So, without hesitation, I walked up to the front porch and knocked loudly enough for them to hear it. If they took quite long to answer then I wouldn't blame them after all its a huge house, with much more land than I thought. So, while I waited I tried grooming myself as i stood there outside in the cold. Luckily, my detective robe was thick enough for me to bear with the cold. A polar bear then opened the door with a grunt.
"What do you want!"
"Um, hey you might've not known this but, Leo Lune has called me up to do some detective work?" I pointed out.
"Sorry but who are you?" the polar bear asked, without a care.
"Ivory, Ivory Hopps at your service!" I said as my ears perked up with happiness.
"Right, and I think you made a wrong turn-" before the polar bear closed the heavy brown door, someone's voice caught our attention.
"Wait, Kevin she's the one! Open the door."
I smiled in happiness that he was there to the rescue.
"Wait, you both know each other?" He asked with great disbelief.
"Yes, from school. Now, will you please open the door for her, Kevin?" Leo replied in an annoyed voice as I gave out a little chuckle.
"Come on in, miss Hopps." Kevin replied as he then closed the door afterwards.
"Thank you, sirs." I said with a smile as I thanked them both.
Leo then beckoned to me to follow him, so I followed. He then lead me up the spiral stairs and as I looked down I could see the grandure of this mansion. Unfortunately, there's no time for daydreaming for the game is afoot.
Even though there were some chandler for light, it was still eerie and spooky, because as we went further up and into the hallways it was cold, but dark hardly any light could come through only a spec of light could be seen from inside. For some reason, I then remembered that rug made of skunk and so I asked Leo about it, also to break the ice of silence.
"What's that skunk butt rug doing on your front door?" I asked with great disgust because from what I learned from Leo and his family that meant great disgrace, mocking his family.
"I suppose that was the work of some other sly fox, but it was not me." Leo replied with a sigh.
"Well, from what I've seen, especially all these portraits hanging on walls hold great history events and this fox seems to be mocking you guys, and that's not right!" I replied almost throwing a tantrum worried for my best friend, but he calmed me down.
"Hey, hey. The past is past, Ivory. Besides we are also predators we obviously would still hold grudges but not us species, we are not animals who would go up to the point where we would turn into a fit of rage."
"Well, from our place we stand up for each other even for animals who are oppressed. And obviously we would turn to a fit of rage, sometimes." I replied recalling me back to those memories, but a chuckle took me back to reality.
"Well, you bunnies are different...well here we are, my study." Leo told me as we stopped walking. I then peered into his room and it was quite tidy from what I have expected.
"WOAH!" I exclaimed, as I took a look around. It was like an ice palace filled with ice crystals of royalty. The Arctic fox saw my dreamy state and so he told me with a kind grin, "Remember why you are here for, Ivory." I stopped and looked up at him in embarrassment.
"Oh, yes sorry." I responded, "So, why not show me a picture of what I need to find?"
"Okay, so here are a few bundles of paper I have gathered from The Zootopia Times and such...ah, also here's the blue folder but it's only where he was last seen, it's not much really, only one page, you may not get anything out of it." Leo replied, carrying a diversity of papers and dumping them all on the table for me to look through. Yup, he laid it all beautifully.
"Sorry about getting everything in one go, I have to make my leave now because of my step father's daughter's wedding tomorrow." He told me. I widened my eyes at this.
"What? Then, why are you standing around here for, go prepare, I got this." I replied trying to shoo him away for him to get ready. So, I pushed him out the door.
"A-Are you sure, Ivory?" Leo asked but hid a blush, that I didn't see.
"Yes, go on now." I said but gave a hug of goodbye. So, he blushed even more but when we broke the hug his blush went away as it came.
"Thank you. Bye, have a good day and good luck!" Leo said, "I'll tell the others you said hi!"
"Thanks, Leo!" I called out as well, with a chuckle.
I then scanned through the papers where each animal went missing, but all lead to all dead ends because they disappeared without a trace, until I opened the blue folder...he was right one page, but on a helpful note.
"BOOM!" I exclaimed in happiness, "Haha, found ya!" I then gathered all my things and my coat after writing a few sticky notes and asked one of the maids that were scurrying about doing their chores, of where would Leo be? They then told me that he went to the back door which was just right to where they were pointing at so I ran towards that door.
I knocked hurriedly and an another polar bear opened the door, not anymore Kevin.
"You must be Ivory Hopps, come in and wait because he is quite busy at the moment. I'll call him up for you." He replied. I nodded my head in thanks.
After a few minutes later, Leo saw me and popped right next to me.
"So, I can tell you've figured out something?"
"Yes, and I'm still here because I didn't want to leave without saying bye plus goodnight and thank you for your generosity towards me." I replied in all honesty and he smiled in acknowledgement.
"Thank you and I am blessed that you are such a humble bunny in this predatory territory, not everyone would give off such aura." Leo replied as I grinned at him kindly.
"I know you have to go now, but would you come around and meet the others and after that you can be on your way?" He asked so I took him up on his offer.
"Alright." I replied with a sigh.
"Everyone this is Ivory Hopps our detective and she will find out who is behind all the missing cases." Leo barked which got everyone's attention, to which they clapped.
"Oh, shucks Leo," I laughed and blushed at his funniness, and the best start of a family friendship that formed. I then met Frufru and so we had a rich conversation about what I do and vice versa.
After that I had to get going now, because I saw my watch that it was 11pm at night which I had to sleep, so everyone understood and I left saying goodbye and goodnight. I then went down upon numerous of stairs and such until I got to the downstairs rooms and so I went in and set my things on the floor but I was already too tired to do anything today so I went face down on my bed and closed my eyes but before I could do that my sister, Judy, called. So I had to answer.
"Heya, sis how was it!" I exclaimed in happiness.
"UGH it was awful they think I can't do it but I know I can!" Judy replied sulking.
"Woah, what happened? you sound so depressed." I asked not believing what I'm hearing, Judy would never sound like this, ever.
"Well, it all started great but then I did parking duty as a meter maid, then I met up with this fox, called Nick Wilde a red fox, I mean, he talked down on me and then I got my feet on cement, then...yeah, when our parents called they weren't even supporting me. So how are you? Doing something better?" Judy asked.
"Well, I met up with a friend and told me there were fourteen missing mammal cases, so I took up on the offer."
"Wait, Really?" Judy asked as if realising something as I heard her jump in surprise.
"Yeah...wh...wait what? You heard about it too?" I asked in great delight.
"Yes!"
"That's cool! I found a lead." I smirked mischievously.
"Really? That's great!"
"Yeah, I'll pick you up during your metermaid duties, I guess." I mentioned and I can feel she rolled her eyes at the mention of a metermaid.
"YUP, sure you can!" I heard her say on the other line.
"Well, it's a plan. Besides, those meters aren't gonna be maids themselves."
"Har, Har. Really funny sis, don't be like my parents." we both then, laughed.
"Well, it's payback for you thinking I'm a kid.. Hehe, it's called a hustle sweetheart~" I replied sassily.
"BRUH..." I heard her say, "Well, you are not the only one who said that statement... I'll tell ya about it tomorrow."
"Wait really? And wait you said a red fox... I saw one too! A hawaiian green t-shirt with a purple necktie plus brown pants...and he's part of the" last seen" files. "
"OKAY YOU HAVE TO TELL ME ALL ABOUT THIS TOMORROW, BECAUSE I MET HIM!" Judy squealed.
"Kay, Love you Judy, never give up!" I encouraged her.
"Love you too Ivory." She replied sweetly.
"Yeah, cute bunny." I teased.
"BYE!" Judy replied in an angered but neutral tone and hung up. I chuckled. I then slept afterwards and went into dreamland. Hopefully things would get better for Judy.
