Chapter 9 - 9. Derailment

Hera has to inherit her family business after her little brother pursued his dream of becoming an actor.

Hera Redrich is the Empress of the business world. No one in this city doesn't know Hera.

Hera is famous as a powerful Empress that no one can defeat. She is an Alpha and exudes a powerful aura.

Hera married Rika Aria, her first love, and she was the one who chased Rika after falling in love with her at first sight.

Hera is different from Hugo because Hera believes in love, whereas Hugo doesn't—due to his experience with unrequited love.

Hugo thought he would never fall in love again, but when he finally did, it was too late. You don't know what you have until it's gone.

Regret always comes too late—only registration comes early. After all, you can't go to school if you don't register first.

Rika Aria is not from a wealthy family like the Redrichs, but she is still a noble family's daughter.

Hera married Rika because Rika is her destined pair. Thanks to Lea's ability, I could see the red string around their ring fingers.

There are many meanings when the red strings are on the finger. Strings on ring fingers mean they will be together forever without many hardships like other couples.

Their life will be filled with happiness. There is no memory of Hera in Lea's mind.

So I don't know if they are close or not. There is no story about Lea's relationship with Hugo's family in the novel.

The author directly wrote that Hugo doesn't like Lea and that his eyes only follow Nia everywhere. So I don't know what to do at this moment.

Hera and Rika finished their dinner. After they left their private room, Hera saw her sister-in-law touching her heart with one hand.

Hera had never talked to Lea before because Hugo rarely came home with her.

Hugo always seemed busy, and Hera worried that he might be leaving Lea alone without company.

I've never had a sister-in-law before, so meeting one so suddenly makes me nervous.

What should I do now? I could even see Hera and Rika walking toward me. Oh my god, I'm dying right now.

Should I smile brightly while saying, "Good evening, sister-in-law"? My heart skipped a beat.

"Lea? What are you doing here? Why are you alone? Where is Hugo?" Hera asked me many questions at once.

"Sister-in-law, please calm down a little," I said, cold sweat forming on my face.

I didn't know how to answer her. Should I say that her younger brother is meeting with his first love? That's not appropriate at all.

Hera saw Lea's pale face and began to worry.

"Lea, are you okay? Your face is so pale," Hera asked again.

Even Rika showed concern for Lea, treating her like a younger sister.

"You can tell me if you're feeling uncomfortable right now," Rika also asked.

I glanced between Hera and Rika.

"I'm okay, so you don't have to worry about me, sister-in-law.

I just lost my appetite and want to go home and rest.

I'm alone here because Hugo is busy with his new film."

I don't know how close the real Lea is with Hugo's family because there's no memory of it in her mind.

Does Lea love Hugo so much that she doesn't remember anything else?

Why do I think like this? Because I, too, used to be blind because of love. It made me forget the people around me.

Now, I don't even remember if I still had friends in my past life. Love is blind, and I don't want to be a fool again.

If I fall in love someday, I'll use my logic instead of my feelings.

Hera looked at Lea's behavior and thought that Lea was smart at hiding something.

Lea could lie without hesitation for Hugo, but she couldn't deceive Hera's nose.

As an Alpha, Hera could sense that Lea had been with Hugo before walking away from the private room.

Hugo's pheromone has a lime scent, while Lea's has a mint scent.

Hera frowned and narrowed her eyes. She didn't know why Lea lied to her like this.

"Lea, don't lie to me. I'm not a fool. I can smell Hugo's pheromone on your body, so I know you were with him earlier.

Where is Hugo? Why did you lie to me? Why are you defending him?" Hera was angry, and her pheromone turned fierce.

I could feel the atmosphere shift, and it scared me. My body trembled in fear, but I kept an expressionless face as best I could.

Hera saw that Lea was afraid but still maintained her unwavering expression.

This proved to Hera that Lea was not a fragile Omega like the others.

Hera suppressed her pheromone and said, "I'm not angry with you, Lea. Please lead me to your private room. Hugo is unreasonable.

Why would he let you go home alone at night? I can't believe he lacks basic manners. It's a waste that he even went to school if he acts like this."

I wanted to speak, but Hera glared at me fiercely.

I could only shut my mouth and lead the way to our private room.

We didn't speak along the way, and when we arrived at the room, we saw something unexpected.

Everyone's eyes widened in shock at the scene in front of them.

Nia was in Hugo's arms, and the unbelievable scene didn't stop there. Hugo was kissing Nia passionately—it was a French kiss, and it looked like the world only belonged to them.

My eyes widened in disbelief. I never imagined that Nia didn't just flirt with other men—she even acted like she was filming an action scene, despite having feelings for Rico, the male lead in this novel.

I never knew Hugo was cheating behind the real Lea's back. There's no mention of it in the novel.

Did I transmigrate into a reverse harem novel instead? Why is this happening? Lea, I'm sorry you have to witness this.

I could even hear my heart crack. Hugo and Nia didn't realize someone else was in the room.

They continued kissing as if no one else existed. Hugo is a scumbag, but I didn't expect him to be this disappointing.

I didn't know what to do. I saw Hera's anger rising, and her eyes became even fiercer.

Hera couldn't believe the scene in front of her. She already knew Hugo didn't like Lea at all.

Hugo liked a girl named Athania Relica, even though Nia already loved someone else.

But even after being rejected, Hugo kept loving her.

Hera had turned a blind eye when she saw reports about it because she didn't want to believe her younger brother was a scumbag.

But now, seeing it with her own eyes, Hera could no longer stay calm.
