"Why stay?" Brando couldn't help but ask, turning to Sed.
Sed glanced up and down at Brando and said, "It's simple, someone needs to protect the injured."
"Then why is it just the two of us?" Brando continued to ask.
He wasn't foolish; he knew that moving along with the group was definitely safer than staying behind. After all, if left behind and encountered by pursuing soldiers, survival was impossible.
Richard was equally puzzled. As wizard apprentices, he and Brando could be more effective in action, and staying behind would only waste combat power. Sed shouldn't be unaware of this. But if Sed understood, why would he do this? Had he sensed something suspicious about him? Yet he hadn't exposed any flaws...
