Savannah's Pov
The delicate noise of porcelain cups barely being set down and the sharp and speedy sound of the coffee machine filled the space around me. The café was brimming, full of students and office workers who were having their usual conversations. I, however, could not concentrate on any of it, my sight would always go back to the window, and my hands that were holding the warmth of a cup I hardly drank from.
On the other side of the table was Scarlett. My younger sister. Her spine was just, her gaze was like an eagle's, and every movement was as if she had planned it. Even here, a place where people were laughing and smiling, she had an appearance that made others keep a safe distance from her without even thinking about it.
Her voice was quiet, almost normal, but I recognized the iron cutting inside it.
"So, tell me, Savannah… did the plan succeed?"
