Chapter 172 - Chapter 171 Promise me

"Avalon you can't just stay here."

Avalon staring out the window at the strom that deemed itself a treat to those that inhabit the earth, wind crashing against the building of the city of the woman of water, that hovered her vase full of water pouring it onto them, Avalon watched as people went by from below covering their heads with bags, papers and umbrellas, Cars that drives past the building faster than normal trying to race away from the storm, Avalon glanced at the door opened inside the sterile room the faint beeping coming from the monitor, the sound of soft breathing coming from the bed and the disappointed sound from the person at the door, Avalon already knew who it is from the voice, to was Salvatore, Ally must have told him what occurred with Bal and Formoir, Avalon turned slightly to him when a flash of lightning appeared at the window casting an odd blue glow on her and in the room, Avalon caught Salvatore's brown hues saw the discernment that filled those brown eyes, with the small hint of protectiveness but for Salvatore that's the same for him,

"I can and will,"

Salvatore sighed reached her the slight movement from his clothes, shaking his head and Avalon watched him walking closer to her by the window, striding past Marcello, he lanced at his comrade a soft look as he past Marcello unconscious body, the soft breathing that came from Marcello as he brushed past, Salvatore stopped by Avalon his side leaning on the window, staring at her when another lightning flash and the light covered them, Salvatore glanced at the window,

"Your draining yourself you know,"

He saw Avalon tempted to peer at him, he looked out the window again the rain that pattered over the city got worse, he opened his mouth and continued,

"You fought Lugh and barely heard when you faced the twins, and don't get me started on Bal, you know you where supposed to watch, not fight Bal testing if hes a real threat,"

Avalon looked at him her head tilted with her orange hair falling off her shoulder it shined from a flash of lightning,

"I know I did Salvatore but. If I haven't moved in. he would have found me,"

"You believe he's that determined to seek you out?"

"Yes, he called out from the forest, the safe spot when he tried to walk into the forest. I took the task of, I want to say distracting him, but it was more catching him off guard."

Salvatore listened his hand that laid on his side a fist when he laid it on the window, his palm feeling the heavy water drop onto the glass,

"Caught him off guard. How did that happen?" Salvatore inquired, his eyes flickered over to her when a large thunder reverberated around them, it sounded like a war amidst the clouds, intentions clashing against another. It seemed to follow them around, Avalon nodded a small smile on her lips, she remembered the stunned expression. Formoir complaints as he tangled in Sandel's fire,

"He thought of me less than a threat, he paid that price by having a hole in his chest where my sword was, burning aching, while he tried to catch up with his angel burning away in my angel. I got hurt but nothing Sandel hasn't been through," Avalon explained

She was watching more dark brooding clouds roll in and glanced at Salvatore, staring at her like she confessed to handling a four hundred men army. She watched Salvatore's face change from shock to an exasperated parent rubbing his temple. Avalon waited her eyes calm with her hands in her pockets, when he let out,

"Thats odd from reports he plays with his prey as he calls it but doesnt let them over him, how did…you know what you told me enough, Avalon this…this isn't like last time," Salvatore expected

He took his hand off the window, his gaze stuck to her, he felt this build up anxiety in his chest as a weight pulling him down but also building him up. The attack from before getting into the old where house was hard enough for her and Marcello, the crystals she left in her path matching the obscene glow that surged around her, a white with the splash of colors that mixed with her striding ahead, Salvaotre lost himself for a moment his eyes seemed be in a daze.

"There is no Blake. Nor are they Morrigan. This is not new but more confusing then before, they are stronger than we have previously thought, even if you can handle one of them the other three will come up from behind, trying to tear you apart just to fulfill their ends met with my son,"

Salvatore finished his scanned waiting for her reaction, she stared at him not with hesitation or misplaced words but with her sharp sarcastic wit he knew too well,

"And there vendetta against me,"

Avalon stared, her silver gaze drifting to Marcello, soft but strained. She felt the subtle heat coming from her shoulder, Sandals presence still lingered on her, Avalon leaned her head near the heat seeing if she wanted to speak, nothing.

"Those to im…im not sure if i can have you on missions anymore,"

Avalons looked at him, her calm gaze turned, drained but serious. The subtle warmth grew on her shoulder, so much that Salvatore sees a small flame that was sat there curling softly in the newly grown orange hair, Avalon looked down her voice stern undercut to it,

"Who will face them if not me?"

"There's Ally, Damian, Luke, Jacob, hell I can even have the other spies from Morrigans defected mafia help just please Avalon not you," Salvatore advocated, his voice still tempered but it held fright. That he might lose her, even with him being her boss she was always more like a daughter to him. Setting herself in danger was…no still is a common thing, it's only gotten worse since Blake has taken over most of the city with his oaths in place, he made Shepherd null and void. It took only a couple months but he made his old desire happen. Tearing down what had trapped him. Shepard. His own father, Salvator didn't notice his hand tightened his knuckles turning a white, he opened his lips but nothing came out, that's when Avalon cut through his thoughts, her words struck him like a punch to the face,

"Can they handle these human powered angels without me?"

"Damien has fought Lugh before, I know they can handle this somehow, Avalon," Salvaote answered.

"Damien was with me," Avalon cut in, leaning back she stared at him apathetically. Dimmed in the eyes she felt the heat on her shoulder get worse as signs of Sandel listening in became coherent, Salvatore stared at her confused, Damien told him what occurred that day he knew because the damages needed to be paid, but with time all things become hard to think straight, one after another blurred, but Dmaiens voice from that conversation cut through,

"Of Avalon wasn't there he would have just finished me there Sal, i was one arm down, she took the brunt of his fury, point blank a knife to the heart stopped by Sandel, I wouldn't have made it alive without her and the same around her,"

Salvatore started contemplating scratching his chin while Avalon waited her hair could almost burst into flames with how much Sandel was influencing her. The small angel making herself known to them, Salvatore then asked them,

"Then what of the twins didn't Coille and Ally have a hand helping you with them?"

"I had to take over handling the twins, almost killing them before Blake sent his ball of shadows after us in sure Ally told you cursing me out like im a bad omen," Avalon explained with a sigh her eyes chute recalling hearing Ally from down the hallway, some things never changed.

"It was the same then, but you had to confront Bal fighting him leading to Sandel healing you, how…"

Salvatore cut himself off, his hands relaxed with the sudden feeling, the dread that consumed him from the thought placed in his mind how long will it take for Sandel's power to change her completely. Like it's happening with Blake, Morrigan, Lugh, the list goes on,

"What happens when Sandel can't heal you anymore, what happens if this power takes over, you've been through enough. I can't let you keep continuing this beat downs,"

Salvatore wanted to continue saying every worry he had built up for years, it got worse when she was gone, but now it's a different beast. It grew in number until it became too much to bear, therapy happened, it helped more than he anticipated, then his marriage to Jane grew with therapy, with life. With guidance. It got better but that weight is still there. It won't go away, Salvatore touched his chest his breath caught in his throat,

"I get that Salvatore i really do" Avalon started her hand out of her pockets right when her tattoos shined a green iridescent hue, the crystal pattern changed, moving with a life of their own, Avalon held out her hands out observing her tattoos like a tapestry.

"Sandel already told me im not changing into her, into something interiorly, im still me but changed through time. Through battles I went through Sandel acclimated with me. Sal"

Avalon gleaned up at him a frown placed firmly on her lips she stood tall staring at him, reluctant, knowing. And the slight feeling of fuck if she did and fuck if she didnt. A rock in a hard place. Bart against Nelson.

"Sal, there's no one else to face these beast powered angels without me. It would be a house of horrors. A slaughter fest. I won't let them burn this whole city away while I could have handed their asses to them." Avalon explained passionately her voice bounced off the walls, her body responded, the tattoos shifted on her skin, growing, her eyes squinted into a severe glare. Salvatore peered at her hands watching the tattoos move when he peered at her face, her hair moved with a draft from her shoulder. Sandel sat there as a silent guardian, the angel mixed into Avalon's hair, her body started to radiate heat like a volcano. Her tension, her determination leaked from her, he observed her building power before his own eyes, he moved taking the back of her hand slowly,

"Avalon can you..tell me you can continue this without costing us you. Your life, your soul who you are,"

Salvatore stopped his hand tightened on hers, his jaw set tightening as he stared at her with the same intense passion she had to. He however was aged tempered in his life. That burns under the wood. That now rushed out. He straightened up like her, with a new look in his eyes, acceptance. He accepted the fact he could stop her not even if there was another way, she wants to face them not for her own pride, but from the sentient flame growing on her shoulder. For her loyalty remade with Ally, Liz became one she wanted to protect with her husband Jacob, Damien, Luke and Marcello a bound she thought would be strained grew into an odd companion ship, he then saw her hand moved from his tight grip taking his han into hers. The tattoos were so hot it felt close to searing his skin.

"I can promise that." Avalon assured

Her head tilted down her tone seriously and she continued, "I cant tell you i wont be dammaged after this i cant promise you that it wont hurt me mentally because it already has. But i can promise you..i will put this city back on it foundation."

She stated filled with emotion that could stick down the most unemotional person, she peered at the bed hearing the breathing soften from before, Marcello laid on the bed still in his coma his emplection pale but his heart beat was steady.

"To bring him back to Luke to Damien," Avalon finished her silver hues, casting an iridescent shine on Salvatore, her hand searing heat didn't bother him he nods slightly,

"We agree, don't make me regret giving you this choice Avalon," Salvatore uttered unintentionally

Avalon grins at him, letting go of him, leaning back on the window, her gaze back on the storm that seems to settle with a lightning strike, making them glow.

"You don't usually regret what I've done, Sal, why would I start now?"
