Chapter 19 - Home

Back at the house, Lucy and Serenity were in the kitchen making sandwiches. It had been 3 hours since Helix had left, and they, and everyone else, was anxious for his return.

"What do you think he'll find? Probably nothing, right?" Lucy said as she bit into her sandwich.

Serenity shrugged. "I don't know. I just hope he's okay."

"He'll be fine. I hope."

Just then the door opens.

"I'm home." Helix says as he walks through the door.

Lucy and Serenity peek their heads out from the kitchen. "Welcome back." "Hey."

The rest of the team heard the door close and all walked to the living room where Helix flopped down on one of the 2 large couches.

"So, any good news?" Zak asked.

"Nope." Helix mumbled. "Just bad news."

"Alright, tell us what you found out then."

Helix groaned but passed the Electric-Pad and the paper with names on it to Kira.

"Abbadon told Sebastian to take this Pad to a lady-Mrs. Rul. Apparently she's apart of the Gen A army 'cause she had a Holo-bracelet."

Holo-bracelets are only given to people apart or related to the Gen A army. If it is not on a registered person's wrist it will promptly explode and destroy their hand.

Kira nodded her head and swiped left on the Pad. A screen with a numeric password came up. There were 5 empty boxes above it.

"It's locked." She voiced.

"Well how do we get into it?" Lucy asked.

"I came prepared." Kira said as she pulled a small, leather notebook from her back pocket. It looked ancient.

Kira opened the notebook and flipped through the pages. The team watched as she looked at the notebook, typed numbers into the Pad, and back again.

After 3 minutes of continuous trial and error, the group finally heard a 'DING' as the Pad opened.

"I'm in." Kira said triumphantly.

"Where did you get that notebook from?" Wish asked.

"My mom gave it to me." Kira responded.

The group waited for her to elaborate, but she kept quiet.

Hede shrugged. "What's on the Pad."

"Plans. Here listen to this- 'Cooperation of the Last Survivors is crucial in order to move along with our mission- a mission that will change this world and its future. Without their consent, our work will be compromised.'"

Wish looked over her shoulder. "What does that mean?"

"I think it means that these 'Last Survivors', or whatever are really important." Lucy said.

"Who are the Last Survivors? The heads of Terra?" Mason asked.

"Don't know, but we can figure it out later." Kira laid the Pad down and looked at the paper.

"Ah, yeah. I found that in a room down in the dungeon. Speaking of, why is there a dungeon?" Helix questioned.

"What else was in the room." Kira said, ignoring his question.

"Other papers with names that were hung on the wall. Some of the names were crossed out."

"A hit-list obviously." Zak voiced.

"Perhaps. But we don't know for sure." Kira mumbled

"Does anyone know the names on this list?" Kira asked around.

Everyone but Helix shook their head.

"I remember seeing these names in a mythology book a while back." He said.

"Really? I'll keep that in mind." Kira said.

"Is that it?"

"Well, I saw huge containers of Gen A blood in one of the labs." Helix shrugged. "Is that something?"

"I don't know. Many major companies try to obtain Gen A blood to extract its healing properties for medicinal purposes. Some of them are asked to do that by the Cores. Others steal our blood illegally."

"So what now?" Hede asked. "Do we confront Abbadon?"

"No. Lets wait." Kira leaned forward. "I think I'm up for a little game."

---------------------8:00 AM, the next morning------------------------------------------------

"Hey Hede, can you help me move the couch?" Lucy asked.

Hede stood up from his spot on the floor and helped Lucy move the couch.

"What are you doing?" He asked as he put his end down.

"I was going to do some yoga. Want to join me?" Lucy asked as she sat down.

"No, I'm good."

Lucy shrugged and started stretching. Mason and Kira walked in with bowls of popcorn and chocolate and set it on the floor beside Lucy.

"What's going on?" Hede asked as he sat next to Mason.

"It's movie night." Mason said excitedly.

"But it's morning." Hede said confused.

"Then movie morning." Kira replied as she switched on the Holo-T.V. She flipped through the channels until she landed on her and Mason's favorite movie.

"Dragon Hunters? That movie sucks." Hede stated.

"You don't know what you're talking about, Hede." Kira grabbed a handful of popcorn and stuffed it her mouth. "Now, be quiet."

Hede rolled his eyes and stood up. "Whatever."

He walked to the kitchen and pulled a water bottle from the fridge.

The doorbell rang so, he put the bottle down and opened the door. A delivery bot with a package and a Holo-Pad stood at the doorway.

"Are you Kira Ruse?" The bot asked.

"Uh, no." Hede shook his head. "Let me call her." He yelled into the house, "KIRA!" And she came to the door.

"Are you Kira Ruse?" The bot asked again.

"Yes, that's me." Kira said.

The bot gave her the package and asked her to sign her name on the Holo-Pad. When she was done the bot gave her the package, excused himself, and walked onto the driveway.

Kira closed the door and walked to the spot on the couch were Helix lied.

"Helix, you're stuff arrived." She said as she dropped it next to him.

Helix opened an eye and looked at the package before snatching it up and ripping into the hard plastic shell with his bare hands.

"Aww, yeah." Helix mumbled happily. He held out the blue shark onesie.

Zak laughed from the staircase. "Man, that thing looks so stupid. Why do you even like those?"

Helix shrugged. "They're just really comfy, dude."

Zak laughed even harder.

"Don't laugh dude. I'm serious." Helix said.

"I know. That's why I'm laughing."

Helix ignored him and slipped the onesie over his shirt and pants. He plopped back onto the couch and immediately fell asleep.

While Helix slept, Zak walked over to the package Helix left on the floor. There was one onesie left inside. After some thought, Zak decided to put it on and see what Helix saw in these things.

He slipped it on and was surprised to find how nice it felt. 'Like hugging a hundred bunnies.' He thought. He took the onesie off, because the rest of the team were giving him weird looks, but made a mental note to buy one in the future.
