Alex was relatively sure that these two card games would become very popular in the future and make him a good amount of money.
But even if he makes it and he is barely even, that's acceptable because he didn't intend to make most of his money that way.
The business model that Alex tried out with Steven several months ago is by far the easiest way to make tons of money for Alex.
Buy a bunch of Deep Silver Pokemon(s) and train them until they reach their first evolutions. Then use a relatively cheap item to allow those Pokemon(s) to reach the S-rank and Alex has a bunch of S-rank Pokemon that he can sell for a good amount of money with the help of Steven.
Unfortunately, this activity cannot be done more than 1 or 2 times a year or it would arouse unnecessary suspicion.
The fact that Alex can do this without immediately drawing much attention is largely because Steven was selling these S-rank Pokemon(s) and not him. It's truthfully not unexplainable that Steven had enough background to make such a worthwhile "business".
But even Steven can't sell 20 S-rank Pokemon every three months without drawing a lot of attention and suspicion.
1 or 2 times was the maximum that Alex and Steven decided after talking about it.
That's why Alex wants to open another money-making business so that he doesn't just depend on this method of making money.
Maria looked at Alex when she heard that Alex wanted to make two trade card games as, if to check that it wasn't a bad joke on Alex's part.
Alex saw that look and felt a little offended. 'Are my jokes really that bad?'
Elise interrupted Alex's thought by saying, "Ok Boss, if you think it will make enough money I don't see a problem with that. It's your money after all. But I have a question, What exactly do you mean by Trainer's Services?"
Alex replied with a slight smile, "Ohh that's a bit complicated to explain but I'll try to make it as simple as possible."
"Trainer's Services is a company that is essentially the Team Rocket Missions center for all non-Alliance tasks. Private individuals or companies can place orders with us, which we then arrange forward to the trainers who fulfill them."
Maria, who heard that, asked, "But where do you want to get this large number of trainers from? The three of us are by no means enough."
Alex explains, "Simple. We will not be hiring trainers directly and will only provide a website for these trainers to find using their Pokedex, cell phone, or PC. The trainers get most of the money from the taks but that's also why they don't get any money if they are inactive."
"Of course, we can't just let every trainer register unrestrictedly as a member and let them accept an order so, that there are prerequisites for being able to become a member first."
Alex started writing on a piece of paper and after about two minutes he showed the three of them the piece of paper.
___

Gold-rank Members: Option 1: Alliance Member, successful completion of 20 Silver-rank tasks, 3 Pokemon at least level 40.
Gold-rank Members: Option 2: Alliance Member, 6 Pokemon at least level 50.
Master-rank Members: Alliance Member, successful completion of 10 Gold-rank tasks, 1 Pokemon at least level 60.

Alex explained as the three looked at the piece of paper, "The plan is to organize the orders into 4 tiers and only allow members of the same rank to accept these tasks. Of course, there are a few other small perks I want to offer to higher ranks members so the trainers feel motivated to take the tasks from the website."
"Trainer's services won't make ridiculous amounts of money but that wasn't the goal from the start. It's primarily intended to build a better connection with the Hoenn Alliance."
"If Trainer's services grow large enough, it will bring many benefits to the Hoenn Alliance and thereby help me gain rights and power in the Hoenn Alliance. "
Daniel, not immediately understanding what Alex meant, asks "I don't understand what you mean when you say that the Hoenn Alliance can derive many benefits from this service. Especially if the Alliance itself does something similar by offering missions to their members."
Alex, who knew that Daniel didn't have a good understanding of the Alliance, wasn't surprised that he had a misunderstanding of the Alliance's mission system.
He explained, "The Alliance doesn't make any money from the Missonns system and the main point is to have a cheap army that they can deploy cost-effectively. We're not trying to build an army and we're even helping their Alliance to maintain their purpose more easily."
"All the requirements to become a member of Trainer's services is the requirement to be an Alliance Member, which gives talented non-Alliance trainers further benefits to becoming an Alliance Member if they are strong enough."
"It's even a bit comparable to the Pokemon Center which treats Alliance members almost for free. In addition, there are other small advantages. but I think this point is enough for you to understand what I mean."
Maria looked at Alex for a moment before she said, "But if you really manage to get yourself into the core of the Hoenn Alliance, isn't it very dangerous for you?"
Although Maria showed no expression of concern, Alex knew that was why she was asking the question.
Alex flashed a small smile as he replied, "That's not a big problem because we won't be doing any criminal activity for at least the next few years anyway."
He then glanced at Elise and Daniel as he said, "Even if the worst-case scenario happens and one of you three betrays me, it's no big deal because I can easily wash my hands white. Don't worry, nothing can happen to me."
Although Alex said these words in a calm tone, Elise and Daniel unconsciously felt a slight pressure as they looked into Alex's relaxed eyes.
