Pondering at that moment, 'Why did I have to tell Torren that Shawney was a good person to get involved with? Was I so blind that I couldn't see her beauty until now? God, she looks amazing.'
"Joseph, are you alright?" Shawney calls out to him.
"My friend, you have dazzled my eyes, and to top it off, you laugh at me, but you look stunning."
Noticing how she smiles when she holds his hand and swirls around, then she bows, saying, "Thank you, kind Sir"
"Shawney, can we talk?"
Responding to Mitch, "Not now, Mitch, but a little later." Walking away when the Collins stop her.
"Shawney, we didn't properly introduce ourselves." Mr Collins said.
"I don't quite understand what you are saying, Mr. Collin's."
"Shawney, we are Dalia's parents."
"I see, well, good to know that, I hope you know you have two wonderful grandchildren, those two are the sweetest."
"Shawney, do the children play with you?" Mrs Collins asks.
"Yes, of course, don't they come to you? Never mind, when you visit more often, they will know you. Good seeing you and enjoy yourselves."
Smiling, seeing Dalia's parents speaking with her, 'I hope they put a stop to this so-called relationship between her and Torren.' Jeff thought,
"Are you happy about something, Jeff?" Carl asks, looking at the wicked smile.
"I was just thinking the party is going exceptionally well, but I was wondering, who were those people that now get off the table?"
"They are Shawney's family."
"Dad invited her family, but why? We only met her for the Valentine's weekend."
"Well, Jeff, Dad invited Robert, and she and Robert are family. So dad extended the invitation to his family, so they all came."
Hearing Jeff mumbling, "I can't believe Shawney and Robert are family?
Carl hears him repeating it as though it is impossible to believe, then Carl asks, "Didn't Lasandra tell you that Dad took her and Careen to Robert's anniversary service?"
Seeing him scratches his head,d and the wicked smile is no longer plastered on his face.
Then he turns his attention to Candis, who was scoping out Shawney's family.
Wondering, 'What is she up to? These two are always making mischief for Torren, so if they feel this time they will separate Shawney from him, I will give them a fight. He is happy, and I am glad for him, and I won't stand by and see them destroy his happiness.'
Candis, on the other hand, sat not too far from where the family sat and listened to them converse.
"You know, Dad, when Mr MacCarty came to our village, no one would have thought he had such a mansion; he was so simple. Do you think Shawney knew of this luxury and came?" Julien seems curious to know.
"I should have expected you all to be thinking like this, but I know that child, and she doesn't let trivial things like this bother her."
"Why do you say that, Ken?" Joan questioned.
"If she wanted wealth and property, she would be home, and you all would be on the street. She chose to be on the street and leave you all in the house."
"You might think so, Ken, but that girl is not stupid, but I want you to wait and see until I get my hand on her."
"Joan, if you embarrass that child, I promise you, I will not be responsible for my actions. She did not do anything wrong, but you had plotted to stop her from coming here by delaying her on the beach. You should also thank her for leaving a travelling allowance for you. I, on the other hand, would have left you to walk, and I know for certain we won't be having this conversation or discussion now."
"You never have money, so what would you leave, and you think this is a joke?"
Joan was about to speak out when Ken said, "Will you keep your voice down, you already made a show by Paula's house, try not to repeat yourself and save us the embarrassment. Now I want you to look at that child, she is happy and looking beautiful, my heart is blessed."
"Yes, Ken, I want you to look at her. Where did she get that dress? When I checked her room, Shawney had nothing like that. So how come she is wearing such an expensive dress, those accessories and those shoes? You tell me if she is not sleeping around?"
"How could she, Joan, you tell me, when she left by my sister, she was wearing that outfit. You are so blind by your obsession, you cannot see her blessing."
"You are lying, Ken. I search through her belongings.
"Mom, please, Dad is not lying, she was wearing that dress when she left Aunty Paula," Shantel repeats.
"But that is impossible. While she was cooking, I checked her room to see what she had to wear. I am telling you that the dress was not there."
"Mom," Julien whispered, "Just suppose someone had seen you going through her things, what would they have thought?"
"Who cares, I am her Aunt."
"Sometimes I agree with Dad, you are impossible. and very stubborn."
Ken was shocked that Julien supported him; it was the first time, which pleased him immensely. With a contented smile, he said, "Thank you, son."
"You speak as if I care. Well, here she comes. I will make her wish she were not born."
"Try it, Mom," Shantel said, "And see if you won't get put out from the people place. I hope you remember the look Torren gave you when you tried to slap her."
"That physio, I am not afraid of him."
