Hitomi insisted that I close my eyes while she guided me to our house.
She removed her hands from my eyes and let me see. "Tara~ this will be our home from now on."
In front of me was a two-story house with four or five rooms, a Western style that looked nice. I like the classic Japanese style, but I didn't want to sleep on the floor, so I appreciate that Hitomi chose a Western-style house.
"Despite how strict they are with the lower levels, the higher your level, the more freedom you have... no, it's more accurate to say that an Omega cannot be contained unless you want to die. The strength of an Omega is comparable to a nuclear bomb, and that's just at the minimum requirement in the lower levels," Hitomi sighed, dejected. After all that she tried, they let me go just like that after finding out that I am an Omega.
"I'm not complaining; it's good that they won't bother me and control me all the time."
"Don't worry, Jiren-chan. No one will ever lock you up again while Mama is alive," Hitomi threw herself at me again and hugged me. I don't mind her excessively affectionate attitude, but I wish she wasn't so rough when hugging me. If I were a normal child, I could have been hurt by these hugs.
We toured the house, and it's nice. It has a front and back yard, even a garage. In Japan, that's uncommon. The kitchen is modern and spacious, and the living room is cozy with polished wood floors.
I chose a room on the second floor with a view of the front. We finished the move quickly. Hitomi had bought many things, but my will also works as a kind of telekinesis, so I was able to arrange everything easily.
I went up to my new room and lay down on my bed. I haven't relaxed so much in a long time...
I reincarnated two years ago, but I only recently regained my memory... Now I'm an Omega level, which means I'm one of the strongest in this world. Is it good or bad? On the one hand, everyone will know about me, but on the other hand, I have diplomatic immunity, so I can rob a bank and not go to jail. Obviously, I won't do that.
Still, I'm worried about the situation in this world. There are at least a hundred Omega levels... a hundred people or creatures with the level of Kumagawa Misogi... Of course, Medaka is also in that classification, but she is there because of her potential and not her actual power.
Well, I won't complain... it's better this, than my house explode every week.
But this world really worries me. As an Omega level, I have access to secret information about many Omega levels.
I just skimmed through the documents, but it was enough to know the messed-up situation of this world. Besides, being a comic enthusiast can complement that information.
Apocalypse (Marvel Comics): The first mutant.
Level: Omega
As a fact: He is the first recorded mutant for thousands of years. He fought against gods while gathering followers and has multiple very powerful abilities.
Magneto: The first with the classification Omega
Level: Omega
As a fact: He stole Aleister Crowley's technology to evolve his power to level six. After that, nothing else was known about him, but he was classified as the first Omega when the classification system was invented thirty years ago after lifting the entire island of Manhattan into the air.
Godzilla: Titanus Gojira
Level: Omega
As a fact: Godzilla's atomic breath is capable of reaching the center of the earth.
Zeus (Marvel Comics): King of Olympus
Level: Omega
As a fact: Zeus from Marvel comics is a monster capable of K.O Hulk with a single blow. Obviously, I'm talking about Marvel Comics' Hulk, the one who lifts mountains, not the one who practices yoga in the MCU.
Doctor Doom: The King of Latveria
Level: Omega
As a fact: Many consider that Doom is not so bad, and in many versions of different universes of Marvel comics, he is actually a good King. But many people do not know that there was a time when Doom sacrificed his wife, his only love, to demons to obtain magic. They agreed and made him a suit of armor made of his wife's skin... you can imagine what that monster is capable of.
Omega Accelerator: Vector of Movement.
Level: Omega
As a fact: He was the first Level Five Esper to reach Level Six at just three years old. This was due to a combination of technology from Lex Luthor and Aleister Crowley and another unknown scientist.
If Lex Luthor exists in this world... then the Joker and other villains do too, but there is no trace of Batman or Superman, which made me feel depressed. Not because I wanted to see them, but because it seems that there are only villains and anti-heroes in this world, just as Morgan cursed...
By the way, mutants and Espers are different. Mutants existed since ancient times and are human beings with the X gene who can develop super abilities or mutations that can be both physical and psychic, while Espers are human beings who awakened abilities through an artificial process made in Academy City.
Well, there are many Omegas, and I haven't even mentioned the DC villains that exist here, but I'll leave that topic because it's irritating me.
Since my situation is messed up, I must take precautions. So, I will use the Wish Note without remorse.
Although my will is incredibly powerful, I feel like I shouldn't underestimate this world. I summoned the Wish Note and concentrated on obtaining a new wish.
I really don't know what power, ability, strength, or concept I should obtain. Everything has its advantages and disadvantages. Perhaps instead of obtaining only one thing at a time, I can obtain all the powers of a specific character, but they must be compatible with me.
Without further ado, I entered my subconscious and looked for the best option. What should I wish for? There is a huge list of powerful characters, and the more powerful they are, the more the Wish Note will consume. Currently, it only has 95% left. Obviously, the manifestation of will is not a big deal. It just turned out to be incredible because it's me... although it feels egocentric, it's the truth.
While I was hesitating, [Protection] activated on its own, just like when it chose Hitomi to take care of me.
I opened my eyes, and the pages of the Wish Note flew around my room, moved by [Protection]. I know that if I wished, I could stop this, but I'll let [Protection] guide me.
After watching a show, dozens of golden leaves surrounded me in a circle and immersed me in the deepest part of my mind.
========
I regained consciousness in a black space surrounded by emptiness. I was floating in the void. I don't understand what I'm doing here, but my current age is the same as before I died.
I have many scars all over my body, cuts, burns, and some marks made by acid... this body is proof of everything I had to go through in my life.
Then a light appeared in front of me in the form of a firefly, it was [Protection], and it seemed to want me to follow it.
I started floating through the dark space, following [Protection] until I arrived at a young man sitting on a throne in the middle of darkness. He looked very much like me, and if someone were to call us brothers, I wouldn't deny it with certainty.
He seemed to be sleeping, but slowly opened his eyes and looked at me as if he were evaluating or investigating me.
"Human?... I see... You are very unfortunate..." said the man in front of me.
I felt a kind of oppression just being near him when his eyes shone in scarlet color. It reminded me of the first time I saw death in my dreams.
He stared at me for a moment before sighing. The pages of the Wish Note appeared and surrounded him.
"Don't tell me?" Several pages began to be dyed with light and darkness, then returned to me. A strange power began to flood my body and change something inside me.
"You can see this as my whim, you can see it as pity, you can see it as empathy, but my advice is that you don't take it seriously. This is something I decided to do. Jiren, from now on, you will need this power and much more to survive..." he spoke with a solemn and calm voice while the Wish Note covered his expressions, making it impossible for me to see him.
"What do you mean? Who are you?" I asked, unsure of what to think of this. He was giving me his power... or rather, he allowed the Wish Note to copy his powers.
"The wolf will not give up so easily..." His words, like molten iron, cut my thoughts and reminded me of the whistle of that wolf. I thought I would never see it again. Damn it!
"You are very unfortunate, but don't worry, I know you have what it takes to face everything the future puts in your path..."
"Who are you?" I still wanted to know who this person was, even if I never saw them again.
"We will not meet again because I am already dead, and it will be a thousand years until I reincarnate... My name is Anos Voldigoad, the Demon King of Tyranny. H
Je~ of all the existing creatures, It was a human..."
========
After that, he disappeared. I opened my eyes and found myself on the floor of my room.
The first thing I did was go to the mirror. I didn't seem to have any noticeable changes. Wait, my eyes are a little different, but it's hardly noticeable. Before my eyes were a deep scarlet, but now it seems that the scarlet has concentrated in two rings inside my pupils, and the rest of the pupil is black
It's weird. I could feel my new powers when I acquired them, but now I don't feel any different. Did it not work? No, clearly more than half of the Wish Note disappeared, sixty percent to be precise.
Ding Dong
Who could it be?
As I opened the door, I found Medaka in a cute white dress... our eyes met for a moment before she looked at me with determination.
"Will you marry me?" Medaka looked at me expectantly.
"After everything you said about finding your own path, you come to this?" I leaned against the door, feeling drained.
Medaka composed herself and straightened up while crossing her arms, though her cheeks were still red. "I have been thinking about a lot of things since our conversation, and indeed, I lacking in several aspects," the girl sighed tiredly. "I asked my siblings and father... my sister told me that I am a perfect and superior being and that it is normal for me to surpass others, they are the ones who should adapt to me. My brother told me that I just need to be pretty and everything will be solved... and finally, my father... never mind, in the end, I came to the conclusion that they are not people with common sense." Medaka frowned.
"My condolences." I knew Medaka's family, and I could only offer my condolences.
"So, I decided to think for myself and learn from others... but the problem is that I still don't know how to think or what to learn," Medaka sighed tiredly, seeming like she hadn't slept well these days. "I came to the conclusion that the only person good enough to teach me to be a person is you, so I decided to follow you..."
"I see, but what does that have to do with this proposal?" I furrowed my brow, unable to understand the thought process that Medaka had gone through to conclude that she should marry me.
"Huh? That has nothing to do with this. I want to learn from you, but the proposal is different," Medaka tilted her head as if I had said something nonsensical.
"Now, I'm the one who's confused."
"It's obvious... because I like you," Medaka's pupils dilated as she looked at me. "I've never felt this connection before, William Shakespeare's excessively sweets verses now make sense to me. I used to think that Romeo and Juliet's suicide was stupid, but now I understand the emotions behind their actions."
With each word, she got closer to me, invading my personal space. It seems I influenced Medaka in a different way. She doesn't seem to be aware of many things, including how love relations work. She's attracted to me and takes this new feeling to the extreme without thinking about the consequences. Or rather, her mind works differently, and she believes that marrying me is the way to confront this new feeling.
I have to admit that this effort she's making has earned my respect. Medaka is so smart that her mind prevents her from understanding common sense, and she tends to be very extreme in what she does, and more than anything, she's dangerously naive.
"I can't..."
I was about to reject her, but I remembered what happened with Zenkiichi. She became extreme regardless of Zenkichi's age.... well, I have an idea, after all, she's just a child.
"I accept the proposal, but it will only be a marriage commitment. regardless of our age we met recently, does that sound good to you?"
"Uh?" Medaka's eyes widened in surprise.
"What's wrong?" I asked, concerned because Medaka seemed to have lost her soul.
"I see... I was wrong..." Medaka's eyes lit up. "I ran a hundred thousand simulations, and in every one, you reject me. In fact, there's no way you would accept my marriage proposal. Being my husband seems impossible for a guy like you. Nonetheless, I came here to surrender my feelings and at least tell you how I feel."
I can't believe what this girl is saying. She ran a hundred thousand simulations in her mind before confessing.
"I don't know why you think that way. I'm just a normal guy," I scratched my head as complicated feelings crossed my mind. "Give me a break... I wanted to live peacefully, and suddenly, the number of people I have to worry about doubled."
...
I looked at Medaka, who was silently watching me. If I looked closely, she seemed lost.
"Are you okay, Medaka?"
"I don't know. Am I standing, or am I on the floor?"
"You're standing."
"I see... I just realized that love is a very powerful emotion, and my heart affected my vital functions. I thought I would die when I saw you."
"Hey, don't say that. I'm too young to be a widower!"
Damn, without realizing it, I started playing along with Medaka's game. I guess my mind is affected by my age from time to time. I had already noticed it when I was reading children's stories at Hakoniwa Academy.
