Ling Chuxia didn't speak, her red lips slightly pursed, the look on her face somewhat tense, and as her gaze on Shi Che became increasingly serious, after what seemed to be an eternity, the hands she had cupping Shi Che's cheeks slid down, and then she wrapped her arms around his waist with force, her cheeks buried in his chest as she hugged him tightly. Her voice was muffled, tinged with a trace of fear, "Shi Che, you won't leave me alone again, will you?"
Shi Che himself had been surprised by Ling Chuxia's sudden movement, but upon hearing her voice, a pang of heartache resurfaced in his heart, yet more than that was a feeling of relief.
A warm hue slowly suffused his brow, as his long arm encircled Ling Chuxia's slender waist, one hand resting on the back of her head, sliding down her soft hair, soothing her.
He chuckled softly, his voice deep and yet full of earnest, "No, I'll never leave again, never."
