He Jingyao gave Adam a cool glance, "So, you kept her outside the office?"
Upon hearing this, Adam immediately broke out in cold sweat.
He opened his mouth but didn't know how to explain. To say he hadn't recognized her at first... seemed like he couldn't escape the responsibility.
"It was me who wanted to see you earlier, so I waited outside the office," Zhixi explained in a soft voice, "It's not Adam's fault, don't blame him."
He Jingyao waved his hand for Adam to leave and leaned in to embrace her fully, still looking displeased, "He didn't let you in, and you just naively waited outside? He didn't let you make a call, and you really didn't make one? When have I ever not answered your calls because of a meeting?"
Zhixi blinked her eyes and spoke in a soft, slightly coquettish tone, "I didn't really have anything important, I just wanted to come and see, so I didn't want to disturb you..."
