The car stopped next to the fountain in front of the hotel. She hurriedly walked over, pulled open the passenger door, and it was chilly outside. She quickly bent down and ducked into the car.
"Mommy."
Suddenly, a familiar childish voice came from behind her.
Ji Anning was startled. Was it her hallucination?
"Mommy."
The childish voice rang out again. Ji Anning's eyes brightened as she turned around. The little one, whom she hadn't seen for three months, appeared before her, her eyes brimming with excited tears.
"Fenfen," Ji Anning leaned forward and grabbed the little girl in a hug, kissing her rosy cheeks repeatedly.
"Who brought you here?"
It took Ji Anning a long while to think of this question. After asking Fenfen, she suddenly looked up to meet the man's cold eyes, stirring a thousand waves in her heart.
Excited and slightly incoherent, she asked, "Uncle, you... how did you come here?"
The question was so anxious, even the assistant beside her felt it.
