I wasn't supposed to be here.
The music was too loud, the lights too dim, and the people… too dangerous.
I clutched my bag tighter as I moved through the crowded hallway, my heart pounding like it was trying to warn me.
"Just drop it and leave," I whispered to myself.
Simple.
Easy.
But nothing about tonight felt right.

He stood at the far end of the room, surrounded by men who looked just as dangerous as him—but none of them came close.
He wasn't just dangerous.
He was terrifying.
Tall. Calm. Watching.
His eyes met mine.
