Fear and doubt…twin guardians that have shepherded existence since consciousness first wondered if it should be.
They are called protectors by those who value safety, called wisdom by those who have been burned, called essential by those who believe suffering teaches.
But what if they are none of these things?
What if fear and doubt are not guardians but jailers, not wisdom but weakness disguised as prudence?
The fearful say that without fear, one becomes reckless, throwing themselves into danger without thought or consideration.
They claim fear keeps beings alive, makes them careful, forces them to calculate risk against reward.
The doubtful argue that without uncertainty, one becomes arrogant, unable to see their own limitations, destined to overreach and fall.
Both are wrong.
Being fearless does not mean being reckless…it means being free to make choices based on logic, desire, and will rather than the phantom chains of what might go wrong!
