The tattered Star-Spangled Banner lay scattered on the ground, corpses everywhere. Flames burned amidst the ruins of the city, and the White House had become a wasteland.

The enormous body of the Thunder Beast howled as it crashed into the Lincoln Memorial, roaring as it charged at the Decepticons on the opposite side. The Decepticons raised their weapons, launching round after round of attacks at the swarming Zerg. Whistling missiles plunged into the swarm, erupting in a series of explosions that blasted thousands of Jumping Bugs and Hydralisks into bloody fragments. Yet, at the same time, more of the swarm surged forward, breaking through the blockade.
