Melgubde was still trying to process why the hell were tens of archfiends attacking him at the same time?
there was supposed to be an unwritten peace treaty between the dragons and archfiends! yes, they are allowed to attack the lesser of their kin with no additional problems. but who knows why these monsters were attacking him!
so he asked out loud with more than half of his face still ruined from the attack he received earlier.
"MAAAAAAAA!!!! it hurts! IT HURTS!!! I DON'T HAVE A FACE!!! WHAT VIOLENCE! DON'T YOU BASTARDS KNOW ANY MANNERS!? YOU COWARDS!"
He released his belly full of anger while pointing at his assailants and trying to find the one that RUINED HIS FACE!
"HOW DARE YOU!!! INVADING MY FOREST, EIGHTH RANKED DRAGON SIR MELGUBDE'S FOREST IN NUMBERS! COME OUT YOU BASTARD THAT RUINED MY FACE AND MEAL TIME!"
he had so many thoughts running through his mind before a wyvern that looked more menacing than his brothers and sisters had come forth with the lack of the predatory hunger that the others had with the blood dripping from his hand it told Melgubde that he was the one that attacked him earlier.
"SURRENDER YOURSELVES TO ME AND TELL ME, WHY ARE YOU KIND ATTACKING ME!!"
in case you haven't noticed this guy is very shameless and unreasonable before the one that came forth simply ignored the demands of the dragon, however, he was elated to do something for their benevolent king that not only gave them knowledge but also strengthened them, even now as this dumb dragon was yapping like a foul beast their numbers were growing, this Wyvern was a more sentient one compared to the rest it acted as the leader as it answered.
"because our king demands your kind's blood..."
the fat man was speechless at this unintentionally blurting out.
"wha? a king of an inferior species?"
those words activated the killing intent of the flock of archfiends as their eyes glimmered coldly since the dragon disrespected their beloved king it was only right they delivered his sentence painfully slow.
as they began charging magic into their wings it was as if watching a lump of meat being dipped into a piranha-filled river as each of the archfiends flew at him with undetectable speeds took a bite out of the dragon, from the limbs, then torso then finally the head and the wyvern took the last bite the core of the dragon.
they all roared as the magic from the dragon was exhilarating, their strength was growing as they were distracted by the sudden growth a creature that looked like an armored sand worm popped up devouring some of the Archfiends that were too close to the ground it opened up again showing a figure that seemed to be fused with the inside of the mouth covered in armor.
he was holding a glass filled with blood wine cheering to the skies before taking a sip then said this full of praise.
"for the skies, for the great god and also...for today's sacrifices, CHEERS!!!"
the archfiends then began firing their magic at the newcomer the death of their comrades didn't faze them as the temptation of more power to be taken was so close again.
the magic they used on the new enemy did so little this time as for him it felt like a light massage after taking another sip of his wine and releasing an intoxicated sigh he said.
"it feels pleasant but it won't work"
he was lightly laughing at their struggles as his defenses were pretty strong he spinning his wine then added in a proud tone.
"not even your weak magic can break through my hard scales!!! AHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!"
"I am Barom Sierra the 13th class dragon and I invite you all...TO DIE!!!"
Barom was titled the centipede dragon due to his defenses that could rival a 5th ranked dragon he was the lowest due to his strong point being just his defensive abilities nothing more his rank would've been higher if it weren't for his lack of control of magic not that he cared as he was fairly content serving a dragon king.
He smiled widely at the group as the dragon pondered on how should he kill them but familiar magic reached out to him and whispered the answers he needed before seeing a figure so high into the sky that some of the archfiends sensed him as well the stronger ones stayed where they were, however, the weaker ones failed to control themselves and charged at this figure
the wind changed strangely and suddenly as it became more like blades trying to cut into the archfiends that got too close to the floating figure above them, the reinforcement of Barom was another dragon that was another level in power compared to the one they killed.
the reason why the previous dragon was killed so easily was due to the dragon's specialization which was plants while the dragon was 8th ranked he received the position due to being the 8th person to follow the king while his actual battle power was less than the 13th dragon due to his lack in experience when fighting strong enemies.
A blonde man with his limbs covered in dragon scales, wearing a white suit, the man whispered to the wind mumbling as he looked towards his enemies, the winds became more deadly as they ripped a layer of skin each time they hit an archfiend and as the wind hit something it grew stronger.
Disaster thrower was the name of this dragon he was a 3rd ranked dragon that sometimes worked with the dragon below as their specializations complemented one another.
the archfiends fired their magic again according to the memories their king shared with them becoming more proficient while the others that lack the mental capacity at the moment decided to blindly charge at Disaster they became grounded up meat by the time they were 100 meters from him and what was left of the foolish Archfiends fell to the ground with a splat.
the Archfiend had to be careful as the two dragons seemed to be toying with them and the current leader of this flock tried having some of them retreat but the Dragon controlling the winds prevented that and if they stayed still for too long the other dragon that moved within the ground would strike!
they had lost a tenth of their flock and the numbers were growing.
the Wyvern was getting anxious as a dreadful amount of magic was approaching from a distance even the dragons acting rather rushed so it wasn't the dragon's ally, it didn't feel like their king, so who was it?
All that they knew was the red streaks of light that were coming didn't bode well for either group.
