"First, the matter with Fitzer towards the gate is being tended to. We need not worry about that," Oliver said.
"He's defeated?" Nila said. "Really? Already?"
"Blackthorn will see him defeated," Oliver said strongly.
"Blackthorn? He's working with you?" Nila said doubtfully. "And how can you be so certain?"
He put a hand atop her head, and patted it. "Trust me," he said. "It'll be alright."
"Stop," she said, slapping it away. "When I say everyone is looking, I mean everryyyyyoneeee. You're embarrassing both of us."
A brief glance to Oliver's side told him that she was right. The King playing with the woman that he loved in the middle of a tragedy wasn't exactly winning people towards his favour. He didn't mind so much. Thousands that had no love for him, and somehow, as terrible as it was, he found himself able to endure it.
