Prediction markets can be used to manipulate reality. For example, you want a ripe apple, but don't want to go buy one. You make a prediction that an apple will not be delivered to your doorstep and place a bet of a large sum of money. The larger the sum, the faster the bet will resolve and reality adjusted.
