There is almost never a reason to fire a warning shot. As soon as a warning shot is fired, the potential danger has legal justification to shoot and kill you. This is due to the assumption that you're shooting at them.
Don't pull out a weapon unless you plan to use it. Don't use it unless it's a last resort.
