By stacking bricks in a squiggly line, you can actually save on the total amount of bricks you need for a wall. A normal brick wall needs to be at least two bricks wide, otherwise it'll easily tip over.

This issue is mitigated by the squiggly pattern. Thus although it would take more bricks than a single thick wall, it still takes much less than any practical wall.

It also just looks cool.
