Scarred Hearts: Book 1
EXCERPT:
"I am not your wife."
His humorless smile taunted me. "Our marriage certificate says otherwise."
"I don't remember getting married to you, or ever getting involved with you."
His fingers dragged down to my jawline, brushing over the skin with feather-like touches. "That's alright. I'll remember for both of us."
"I don't want to be with you." Tears filled my eyes against my will. "Where's my family?"
"I'm right here, Dahlia. I am your family now. It doesn't matter that you don't remember now. I'll remember for the both of us."

He says I chose him. I don't remember why.
The last thing I expected after waking up from a nine-month-long coma was a man attached to my side, claiming to be my husband. But there he was.
Calm, infuriatingly composed, so sure of himself, and dangerously good at making me believe we were something real.
All I have are vague pieces of a night I can't forget and a man I'm not sure I can trust.
Maybe he's my ruin. Maybe he's my salvation.
Either way, he claims I'm his forever.
***
She doesn't remember the night she chose me.
One impulsive night in Vegas tied us together forever. One I could never forget. Now she looks at me like I'm a stranger. Maybe I am.
The smartest, most selfless thing to do would be letting her go, letting her find her way back to me, but I'm not as selfless.
I'm as selfish as they come, and this time, I wasn't letting her slip through my fingers; not to fate, not to fear, and not even to death.
This time, I was going to take her heart, too.
