The Author's Guide to Side-Character Survival
Leo didn't just die a cliché death by electrocution from his keyboard; he was reborn into an even bigger cliché of the fantasy academy world of his own terrible, half-finished novel.
His goal is simple: survive, stay anonymous, and avoid the plot like the plague.
He knows the protagonist, Kaelen, is destined for greatness, and he knows exactly how the cannon-fodder side characters meet their messy ends. He has no intention of being one of them.
Armed with nothing but his meta-knowledge and a healthy dose of cowardice, Leo’s plan is to be perfectly, gloriously average.
But the universe - or more specifically, a sarcastic System that won't stop giving him achievements for his failures has other plans.
From defeating a rampaging golem with a mop to accidentally saving the princess, Leo's every attempt to stay out of trouble rockets him further into the spotlight.
Now, saddled with a two-inch-tall pixie knight for a hype-man and a growing reputation as an "accidental genius," Leo must navigate academy politics, a magical tournament, and a demonic graduation ceremony he himself wrote, all while trying to convince everyone he's not the hero they're looking for.
Sometimes, the most dangerous person in the story is the one trying to erase the script.
