Gao Yang seriously contemplated Jim's proposal. If training his own people couldn't be done in time and they were in urgent need, finding a temporary machine gunner wasn't out of the question. However, inviting someone with the intention of getting them killed was something Gao Yang couldn't bring himself to do.
You have to have some principles. If someone is unreliable, don't use them, but you can't lure them in with a high salary and then kick them aside, or worse, shoot them once they're not needed. That would be too despicable.
"Let's forget about this. I've never had the habit of shooting my comrades in the back. Isn't there a better choice?"
Jim shook his head and laughed, "If you want someone at Big Dog's level as a machine gunner, it's really hard to find. If you just want a good machine gunner, there are many. Let Little Donnie take his time, and he'll eventually find a suitable one."
