Bitter frost covered the surroundings, bringing not mere cold, but a desolate dead silence that spoke of utter despair. Within the snow and ice, frozen corpses were everywhere, their expressions varied—some excited, some hopeless, some terror-stricken, among others—yet the overall feeling they conjured was one of a dark, dense, and ironic mockery.
Among them were elves, dwarves, vampires, centaurs, and humans. At a glance, as far as the eye could see, there were only cold, lifeless bodies. Staying in this place for too long was indeed not a pleasant matter.
Otherwise, Hils wouldn't have resorted to boringly employing his expertise in formations to study and drill holes everywhere. The Land of Enlightenment, even to its Guardians, was both a familiar and strange subject; at least, the predecessors hadn't discovered that at that particular spot above their heads, one could drill and reveal a Bronze Mirror.
