Hidden within the mountain is a magnificent palace, where a powerful monster resides, known as Shuten.
The name Shuten Doji strikes terror in the hearts of the townsfolk nearby, not only because of Shuten Doji's immense power but also because of Shuten Doji's cruelty.
Legend has it that this Shuten Doji delights in devouring the flesh and blood of the living, especially that of young, pure women.
The surrounding area is filled with dread, yet numerous skilled Samurai, clergy, and even mysterious Onmyoji have come to challenge, only to never return, becoming food for Shuten Doji and its underlings.
The entire vicinity, for a hundred miles, is shrouded under the shadow of this powerful monster... yet seemingly only to that extent.
