Chapter 235 - The Alien Heroes Escape?

Chapter 235: The Alien Heroes Escape?

Evening shadows stretched long across the pavement by the time Klein and Gwen arrived at Kevin's place to check on their preparations. Instead of a functional workspace, they were greeted by a smoldering crater of twisted steel and shattered concrete. Kevin's garage was completely leveled.

Standing in the center of the ruins, Ben and Kevin stared blankly at the wreckage, seemingly processing the sheer scale of their latest disaster.

However, the most alarming detail was Kevin himself. His body was a chaotic, sparking chimera of jagged Taydenite diamond and crude, heavy metal. Dragging his asymmetrical limbs across the debris, Kevin slid over and threw himself at Klein's feet, wrapping his mismatched arms tightly around his leg. "Boss, help! I've turned into a freak again! Wuwuwu..."

Ben rubbed the back of his neck, his face dusted with soot as he explained the situation. The two idiots had simply wanted to crack the Omnitrix's Master Control program. Between Ben's complete lack of technical knowledge and Kevin's half-baked hacking skills, they had triggered a massive energy feedback loop. The watch itself hadn't detonated, but the resulting surge of raw alien energy had blown the roof off the garage and permanently locked Kevin into his current mutated state.

Worse still, the physical manifestations of Spidermonkey, Goop, and Way Big had literally escaped from the dial. If the runaway alien heroes couldn't be tracked down and recaptured within twenty-four hours, Ben would lose access to those three transformations forever.

Klein let out a long, exhausted sigh. He casually kicked the clinging Kevin off his leg, then tapped the faceplate of the Another Omnitrix.

An ethereal blue light illuminated the ruined driveway. In Klein's place stood Clockwork, his brass gears whirring with rhythmic precision. A temporal beam shot from the Chronosapien's chest, washing over Kevin. The timeline localized around the Osmosian rapidly reversed, stripping away the diamond and metal until he was back in his black t-shirt, completely unharmed.

"I'm back to normal?! Yay!" Kevin cheered, checking his hands.

Because his consciousness remained unaffected by the localized time reversal, he perfectly remembered the whole fiasco. Seeing the success, Ben immediately trotted over, flashing a wide, fawning grin. "Hey, Cousin... since you're already fixing things, why don't you rewind my Omnitrix too? Preferably back to the exact second it activated Master Control?"

Clockwork just stared at him. The gears in his head clicked in the heavy silence. A flash of blue light later, Klein stood there, his expression flat. "No."

Gwen crossed her arms, glaring at her cousin. "Even if Grandpa Max were here, he wouldn't let Cousin bail you out of this one. I hope you actually learn your lesson this time, Dweeb."

Ben's face crumpled in despair. "Then what do I do? My Way Big is gone..."

He genuinely mourned the loss; the towering To'kustar perfectly fit his obsession with massive, heavy-hitting aliens, even if his sheer size made him highly impractical for everyday fights.

"Relax," Kevin said, a smug grin spreading across his face now that he was cured. He pulled out his Plumber's badge. "Your runaway aliens are radiating pure Omnitrix energy. We can track their signatures with this."

Ben's eyes lit up, ready to cheer loudly, but Klein cut him off with a chillingly calm tone.

"Next time you pull a stunt like this, I'm hacking into your dial and releasing Four Arms and Humungousaur into the wild."

Ben gasped, diving forward to hug Klein's leg exactly like Kevin had moments ago. "Nooooo!!! Cousin, please! I know I was wrong!" Losing his two favorite brawlers would be a fate worse than having the watch confiscated entirely.

Seeing that Ben was genuinely terrified into remorse, Klein finally gave a slight nod of concession.

"We need to move faster," Gwen urged, glancing up at the darkening night sky.

A sleek muscle car tore down the suburban roads, eventually screeching to a halt at the edge of a dense, sprawling forest. Kevin killed the engine and stepped out, his eyes glued to the glowing green radar on his Plumber's badge.

"This is it. The signal for one of your aliens is pinging right inside."

Ben practically vibrated with excitement as he hopped out of the car. "Is it Way Big?"

Klein slowly turned his head, staring at Ben as if looking at a particularly slow toddler. "Can't you just look up and see?"

Ben blinked, scanning the quiet treeline. "I can't see him."

"Exactly."

It took a few seconds for the gears to turn in Ben's head before he realized that a hundred-foot-tall cosmic giant couldn't possibly hide behind a pine tree.

"Alright, let's go in and take a look first," Gwen sighed, pulling Klein by the sleeve to stop him from verbally destroying her cousin any further. She raised her right hand, summoning a sphere of crackling pinkish-purple mana to illuminate the dark woods, leading the group past the tree line.

Ten minutes of crunching through dead leaves and thick underbrush later, Kevin and Ben were huddled together, squinting at the radar screen.

"The badge shows he's right on top of us, no wait... Hey!"

A thick strand of white webbing shot out of the canopy, snatching the metal badge right out of Kevin's hand. They snapped their heads up. Crouched on a thick branch, clutching the stolen tech, was the blue, four-eyed, multi-limbed form of Spidermonkey.

"Quick, catch him!" Ben yelled, slapping his Omnitrix dial.

A flash of emerald light consumed him, leaving the crimson, aerodynamic form of Jetray hovering in his place. Jetray shot into the canopy, his tail whipping through the air as he fired rapid bursts of green neuroshock beams from his eyes. The lasers scorched the bark, but Spidermonkey was entirely in his element. The agile Arachnachimp vaulted from branch to branch, easily weaving through the barrage of energy blasts.

"Hey, wait for me!" Kevin shouted. He slapped his hand against a massive oak, his skin instantly absorbing the properties of the wood, turning into a dense, bark-covered brawler. He sprinted after them on foot, his heavy wooden boots thudding against the dirt.

Gwen took to the sky on glowing mana platforms, firing precise purple energy bolts to cut off Spidermonkey's escape routes, trying to corral him into Jetray's line of fire.

Dodging another volley of green lasers and purple mana, Spidermonkey screeched and swung wildly toward the western edge of the woods. He thought he had a clear path, right up until a figure stepped out from the shadows. It was Klein.

"Bloxx!"

Klein casually slammed his palm onto the Another Omnitrix. Ethereal blue light erupted, and in his place stood a towering gorilla constructed entirely of interlocking red, yellow, and blue plastic bricks.

Spidermonkey skidded to a halt on a branch, tilting his head at the bizarre, blocky alien he had never seen before. Deciding not to risk it, the Arachnachimp fired a web line to swing over him. In a forest, you can't possibly catch me, Spidermonkey seemed to think.

Bloxx immediately proved him wrong.

The Segmentasapien's body rapidly shifted, his plastic bricks multiplying and expanding at terrifying speed. He shot upward, forming a massive, impenetrable wall that dwarfed the tallest trees in seconds. Spidermonkey panicked, trying to pivot to another tree, but Bloxx's arms stretched outward, curving around the perimeter. The plastic bricks flowed like a tidal wave, enclosing a fifty-meter radius of the forest. The walls curved inward at the top, snapping together to form a perfectly sealed, half-dome cage of interlocking blocks.

Spidermonkey was completely trapped. Lacking the raw physical strength to smash through the dense alien plastic, the agile monkey could only screech in frustration.

He watched helplessly as dozens of blocky hands suddenly sprouted from the interior walls of the dome, extending inward like a swarm of geometric snakes. With nowhere left to swing, Spidermonkey was swiftly grabbed, pinned, and captured.
