Chapter 13 - Episode 13: When He Chose Her Over His World

The words still echoed in the room.

"I choose you."

Meera Verma stood frozen, as if time itself had stopped around her.

For a girl who had lived a life of being ignored… those words didn't feel real.

They felt dangerous.

They felt like hope.

Kabir Rajvansh didn't move.

He just watched her carefully, like he was waiting for her reaction more than the attack he had just stopped.

Because this moment… mattered more than any war outside.

Meera finally whispered, her voice shaking,

"You can't just say things like that…"

Kabir's eyes softened slightly.

"I don't say things I don't mean."

A pause.

"And I have never meant anything more."

Silence fell again.

But this time… it wasn't fear.

It was something heavier.

Something emotional.

Something neither of them knew how to handle.

Meera looked away first.

Because looking at him too long felt like falling.

And falling meant there was no going back.

Outside the broken house, rain continued falling.

But no one moved.

Not the guards.

Not the enemies.

Not even Kabir's men.

Because they were waiting.

For what their boss would choose next.

Kabir finally spoke again.

"Pack your things."

Meera blinked. "What?"

His voice was firm now.

"You're not staying here anymore."

Her eyes widened slightly.

"Where am I supposed to go?"

Kabir stepped closer.

"Somewhere they can't reach you."

A pause.

"And somewhere I can reach you before they do."

Meera's heart raced again.

"This is not normal, Kabir…"

He interrupted softly.

"Nothing about me is normal."

A bitter pause.

"But you are still alive. That matters more."

For the first time… Meera didn't argue immediately.

Because deep down…

she knew he wasn't lying.

But fear still existed.

"So what am I to you?" she asked quietly.

A dangerous question.

Even Kabir hesitated.

His answer came slower this time.

"You are the reason I stopped being what I was."

Meera looked up at him.

Confused.

Broken.

Pulled toward him in ways she didn't understand.

Kabir clenched his jaw.

"I built my life on distance," he said.

"And you destroyed it without even trying."

Meera's voice softened.

"I didn't ask for this."

Kabir nodded once.

"I know."

A pause.

"But I did."

Outside…

a phone rang in the shadows.

The enemy wasn't gone.

It was watching.

Waiting.

Planning.

Kabir noticed it immediately.

His expression changed.

Not fear.

Focus.

He turned slightly toward his men.

"Clear the area," he ordered.

Then looked at Meera again.

"This isn't over."

Meera swallowed.

"What happens now?"

Kabir stepped closer one last time.

So close she could feel his presence fully now.

No barriers left.

No distance.

"Now," he said quietly,

"I make sure you survive my world… even if I have to burn it down."

And for the first time…

Meera realized something terrifying.

She wasn't just caught in his world anymore.

She was the reason he was destroying it.

To be continued… 💔
