A couple days later it's a cold evening in Hell's Kitchen. The streets are full of people enjoying the night life of the city. However there is a looming shadow and that's the AVTF. Their heavily armored Vehicles patrol the streets and agents walk around the Kitchen looking for trouble. They are supposed to be keeping the peace but really they're keeping everyone in line. But Daredevil will stop Fisk and inspire the city to rise up against him. He is running on the roof tops of Hell's Kitchen, swinging across the city with his billy clubs but now he has a new look. What was once a red devil suit has now become black. He hides within the dark, AVTF agents have no idea the devil lurks in the shadows. Daredevil stops running because his radar sense detects trouble. He hears a couple being harassed from a couple blocks away. Wasting no time he swings into action.
A south Asian woman who just wanted to have a nice evening stroll with her partner is assaulted by a power hungry AVTF agent who is trying to detain the woman. Her partner is doing all he can to protect her but the agent is overpowering him and has a gun so naturally they are both afraid. The AVTF agent racially profiles the woman by asking her if she has papers to prove she should be her. He tells her that Mayor Fisk does not tolerate illegal infiltrators into his city. She's crying and confused because she grew up in this city. She's been here since she was 6 but now she's seen as an infiltrator. The AVTF agent loses his patience and gets violent, trying to grab her.
But suddenly Daredevil fires his billy club at the agent, wrapping its wire around his neck. The agent is startled and trying to get out of the tight hold the wire has on his neck. Daredevil uses the club to swing the agent in the wall keeping him away from the couple. The agent feels a little disoriented, they have no idea what's going on. But before he can even react Daredevil does a flip kick into the agent's head and knocks him out, leaving him lying on the cold hard pavement. The couple were looking away in fear but when things go quiet they take a peak and realise that Daredevil is the one who saved them. The woman looks at him and notices the symbol on his chest. The symbol he has chosen to wear are two red D's intersecting one another. It's simple and it makes it very clear who he is and that he's New York's devilish hero Daredevil. The woman looks upon him and feels hope.
Both of them thank Daredevil with the man shaking his hand, Daredevil smiles and tells them.
"You're very welcome, protecting the people of New York is what I live for."
"Never forget that there's more of us than them and I promise you Mayor Fisk's reign of terror wont last forever I'll stop him and take our city back."
The couple nod and they thank him again for saving their lives. Daredevil smiles and swings away. The couple are a bit shaken but relieved that things worked out. Suddenly a mysterious woman appears behind them. They both turn around and see a woman with a black leather jacket, white jumper, blue jeans, black boots and a crimson red wing holding two leaflets in her hands. This woman is Karen in a disguise and she tells the couple.
"If you're tired of Fisk's tyranny like a lot of us, come join our task force protest at the 15th precinct."
"It's going to be a large gathering, we're going to show Fisk that he can't bully us into submission."
"I hope to see you there."
Karen leaves and the couple are looking at the leaflets she gave them. The message written on the leaflets is Resist, Rebel with Daredevils symbol at the bottom of the page. Later that evening Daredevil and Karen arrive at 15th precinct, they are standing together in an alley hidden amongst the shadows. They're observing the protest that is taking place and it's a much larger crowd than Daredevil anticipated. Karren tells him with a smug face.
"See I told you that you aren't alone"
Daredevil hates to admit it but she was right and he smiles at her acknowledging that fact. He then replies.
"Fisk is really going to hate this and I know how to rile him up even more".
Karen, looking at him suspiciously, asks him.
"What are you planning Matt?"
Daredevil gives her a big smile, the one he had every time they went on a date, when they felt the relief of winning a tough case and when Foggy was teasing him over his love life. He holds his billy club upwards and grapples up to the roof. That smile makes Karen's heart race a little and she heads towards the crowd she wants to be right in the middle of it. She doesn't just hear the chants, she feels it in her bones. The crowd makes their feelings known by shouting.
"WE WANT OUR STREETS BACK"
"ABOLISH THE TASK FORCE"
The AVTF have staged a perimeter around the precinct to prevent anyone from going inside. The situation could explode into chaos at any moment. A news helicopter is hovering around the scene showing live footage of this protest with news times from all media outlets observing the protest from behind the crowd. They interview one of the protesters who shouts directly at the camera.
"THE KINGPIN SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN ALLOWED TO BE MAYOR AND NOW HE'S TURNED NEW YORK INTO HIS OWN KINGDOM AND WE'RE SUPPOSED TO JUST OBEY? HELL NO! SCREW HIM, SCREW THE TASK FORCE AND FUCK ALL FACISTS!"
At city hall Mayor Fisks watches the footage laughing without concern. He sees these protestors as nothing but ants. These tiny, insignificant people could never understand what he's trying to build he thinks to himself. His deputy mayor Daniel Blake, the young man who has made a rapid rise up the political ladder walks into the office and asks him.
"Hey boss, I mean sir I have the Task force captain at the scene on the line."
"He wants to know what your orders are?"
Fisk turns and looks at him and simply asks.
"Orders?"
Daniel responds
"For how we should handle this protest sir"
Kingpin chuckles and tells him.
"Tell him to do nothing, these people are of no concern."
"Let them cry and whine to their hearts content".
Daniel picks the phone back up and relays what Fisk told him then hangs up.
Back at the protest Daredevil jumps off the roof and uses his billy club to grapple onto the news helicopter's landing gear and swings through the crowd. There's a momentary silence until someone shouts.
"LOOK THERE ITS DAREDEVIL!"
Daredevil has swung to the building across from where he was standing. He does a cool flip and lands perfectly. The crowd cheers for him and he feels good to see the people of New York on his side. He's understanding the influence he can have as a symbol of hope for New York. Karen in the middle of the crowd borrows someone's megaphone and starts shouting.
"RESIST, REBEL!"
She keeps repeating it like she's a broken record and the crowd of 300 brave citizens follow her lead. The people hold up the leaflets that Karen has been passing around the city. The news crew on the helicopter are perplexed by the current events. The news caster on board the helicopter called Katie Penn tells the camera man to point the camera at her as she communicates what's happening to their viewers.
"It seems that the person who organised this protest is Hell's Kitchen's superhero Daredevil".
"Yes that's right folks he might have had a new makeover but there's no denying that's the devil of Hell's Kitchen, I guess black is the new red.
"Daredevil has had a history with Mayor Fisk with him being involved both times the Mayor had found himself arrested for his past crimes."
"Is Daredevil now organizing a movement against the Mayor? How will he respond to this Anti Fisk movement? So many questions which the team at channel 4 will get the answers for so stay tuned as we cover how this situation develops."
Fisk's laughter has now become a deafening silence. Daniel is trying to think of something to say, he wants to be useful to the Mayor but as soon as he's about to speak Fisk aggressively commands Daniel to leave his office and wait outside. The News helicopters cameraman has put the focus on Daredevil. He's now in the light and everyone can see his new sleek black suit with the symbol of hope he wears on his chest. Daredevil can't see the camera but he can feel it observing him so he turns to look at it and gives an antagonizing grin. He knows Fisk is probably watching the broadcast right now and that he'll receive his message of defiance loud and clear. Fisk has reached his boiling point after seeing Daredevil smile like that. He lets off a loud primal scream and smashes his disk with his bare hands. Daniel is sitting outside the office afraid, at this rate the mayor might kill him if he makes a mistake right now.
Fisk stops his violent outburst because he realises someone else is in the office with him, hiding in the shadows. It's a man but not just any man, it's the assassin Ikari. He broke out of prison earlier in the day and has returned to his employer hoping he would give him another chance to kill Daredevil.
"I apologize for failing to Daredevil Mr Fisk."
"He was stronger than expected but next time I will bring you the head of the devil that haunts us both."
What Ikari doesn't realize is that he has come to Fisk at the worst possible time, he might be a powerful ninja but he severely lacks when it comes to social cues. Fisk is not in the mood for failures and worst of all he's dressed like his greatest enemy. Fisk is not in a clear state of mind right now; he sees the cowl of the devil and stampedes towards Ikari, like a bull seeing red. Fisk grabs Ikari's neck with both hands and with such force that it feels like a chain is being wrapped around it.. Fisk has lifted the assassin off the ground and he's completely helpless against the giant monster in front of him. Fisk shouts at Ikari.
"YOU DARE COME TO MY OFFICE LOOKING LIKE HIM."
"DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT YOUR FAILURE COULD COST ME"
"THERE WILL BE NO NEXT TIME IRKARI, TONIGHT A DEVIL DIES IN MY HANDS!"
Fisk uses so much force he completely shatters Ikari's neck bone. He is so close to removing his head from his body completely. The only reason he didn't was because he didn't want to get blood everywhere in his office. It's bad enough he's wrecked the place but even he would have a hard time getting away with that kind of murder. Fisk removes Ikari's cowl from his lifeless corpses then he drops his body which hits the ground like a slab of meat. He takes a moment to look at the cowl, killing Ikari made him feel a little better but he can still see Daredevil's antagonising smile. He crushes the cowl in his hand and throws it on the floor with frustration.He walks towards a window and summons Daniel.
"Dainel come here please."
Once he was summoned he opened the door with so much urgency he nearly fell at the speed he was moving. His fear of disappointing Fisk has overtaken his thoughts. He looks around the room in shock, not because the office is a wreck because there is a dead body on the floor and Fisk is just standing there like nothing happened. Fisk asks Daniel.
"I need you to order any available task force squad to the 15th precinct immediately, Daredevil must be apprehended for the chaos he's caused tonight."
Daniel is too nervous to speak a full sentence right; he only responds with a yes sir. Just as he's about to walk out the room Fisk turns towards him and says.
"Oh and there's one more thing I need you to do."
"Find Buck and tell him to come to my office, I'm in need of his expertise for… cleaning up messes shall we say".
Daniel nods and nervously smiles at Fisk. He pulls himself together then he calls a task force officer giving him Fisk's orders. Back at the protest the crowd is still chanting but then Daredevil hears an alarm from a couple blocks away. He uses his radar sense to focus on it and he hears that it's a jewelry store alarm and that it's currently being robbed. He can hear the robbers talking and shouting. They're smashing glass cases trying to steal as much as they can before the cops show up. Daredevil smirks and says to himself.
"Time to get back to work."
Daredevil sprints across the rooftop just as more AVTF arrive. The crowd disperses and Karen sneaks away amongst the chaos to safety. The news helicopter is trying to follow Daredevil as best as they can but he's too fast for them. He does a flip off the roof and starts swinging with his billy club towards the Jewelry store that's being robbed. Our hero has started a new journey, he was the devil of Hell's Kitchen, now he's becoming a symbol of hope.
