Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

Him and I are just walking silently. My knees are trembling and I keep on fidgeting my fingers. The atmosphere between us was thick and nearly suffocated me. It seems like I was the only one who could feel it though. Because he was humming as he walked next to me. His hands were on his back and his chin was up.

"This way," he said as he pointed towards the door that would lead us towards our destination. I tried to refuse earlier but I'm afraid to anger him if I said no that he'll accompany me. So, I reluctantly went with him.

I know what will happen next. I definitely knew. But here I am, still standing next to him instead of running away.

He said he'd see me when he's thirsty... does it mean he's thirsty now? That's why he came to see me?

What really is my role in why he took me here?

To be a blood supply? To be his food?

I shivered at that thought and rubbed my own arms.

 "You cold?" he asked.

I shook my head and kept silent. He opened the door and got out. I followed after him and there, I saw the garden that Eliza mentioned.

My breath caught in my throat as I stared with widened eyes at the surroundings. My jaw slacked open.

Different kinds of healthy plants were planted in the garden. Colourful flowers make the place lively. The air was fresh, and the floor was covered with bermuda grass.

 "Wow..." I said in awe.

 "Yeah, I know it's beautiful."

I would've noticed his sarcastic remark if I weren't just too in awe whilst wandering my eyes around the whole area.

I felt like I'm in a magical world.

"Bring me a tea and a juice for her, and two pieces of sandwich."

 "Yes, master."

I spotted a wooden table and chairs from the distance. I slowly walked towards its direction and traced my fingers through the wood as I walked.

I could not help but to smile. Looking up, I saw the beautiful cloudless sky and birds flying freely above, making chirping sounds.

I closed my eyes slowly as the wind blew upon my face, making my hair fly. My smile widened at the peaceful moment.

I took a deep breath. Finally, I could breathe fresh air. Thank God I was now allowed to go out from that suffocating room.

I opened my eyes and turned my head towards him. He was looking somewhere.

 I called him. "Pst."

He looked at me and raised a brow. "What?"

 I smiled sweetly. "Thank you."

His lips parted for a brief second before he quickly shut it off and smirked.

"Thank you? Are you thanking me because I kidnapped you? Well, you're very much welcome, prey."

My lips protruded and I glared at him. "Hmp!" I turned my back on him, I murmured, "What a killjoy."

I sat on the wooden chair and after a few seconds, a servant came. She was holding a tray. I quickly stood up and helped her.

"N-No, it's okay, ma'am. I can handle it," she stammered.

 I shook my head. "Nah."

I took the tray from her and put the content on the table.

"Thank you for bringing this!" I exclaimed gratefully. She bowed her head before she left.

I quickly attacked the sandwich and munched it, moaning at the delicious taste of it. Have I mentioned that their cook in this house is a certified chef? Probably the best chef ever.

After finishing the sandwich, I slowly sip on the juice.

"Hey, aren't you going to sit down?" I asked him when he stayed standing on the same spot I left him.

He shrugged and walked towards me. He sat down across the table and lifted the teacup and took a sip on it.

"Are you gonna eat the sandwich?" I asked as I made puppy eyes.

 His brows furrowed. "Why?"

"Oh, well... I just thought if you don't like to eat it, can I have it instead?" I smiled cheekily. "Please?"

He stared at me for a few seconds before he scoffed. "Fine."

 "Yay! Thank you!"

I took the sandwich and took a big bite.

"Are you hungry? Why didn't you tell the maids?"

"No. I'm just craving. It tastes delicious. I can't seem to get enough of it."

He sipped on his tea. "I see."

 "Hmm."

We fell into a deafening silence, though I didn't felt any discomfort because I was too busy roaming my eyes around the beautiful garden. He was also busy sipping on his tea and I could feel his intense gaze on me. But I shrugged it off.

"Your garden is stunningly beautiful. For how long does it exist?"

 "10 years."

I nodded my head attentively. "The beauty hasn't faded even after all these years, huh? You must love gardening so much because this one looks like it has been taken good care of."

"My servants took care of it. Not me."

I smiled, hearing humble words from him. That was the first time.

Though, I immediately stopped smiling when I remembered what happened last week. He bit my wrist and fed on me. I suddenly felt sick. Like I feel like puking out. I shut my eyes and shook my head to shove that memory away from my head. It's gross.

"What are you doing?" he curiously asked.

I heave a sigh. "Nothing." I sipped on my juice and looked at him. "Anyway, I have a question..."

 "Go ahead. Ask."

I fidgeted my fingers as I grew nervous. "Uhm... I just... ask, if, you're, p-perhaps, a vampire?"

He rose a brow. He raised his teacup and took a sip. I could see the corner of his lips tugged up.

 He ignored my question.

I looked down on my lap. His silence only answers my suspicion. He is, indeed, a vampire. Vampires who sucks blood. I thought it was only a mere fiction. I had never thought I'd be able to meet one in person.

 Now, I am doomed.

I felt a lump in my throat. Again, we fell into a deafening silence. But this time, it was an uncomfortable silence. I shifted uncomfortably on my seat and cleared my throat.

I felt intimidated with his presence. The way he looks at me makes me shake in fear. He keep on staring. I wonder if there's a dirt on my face?

I gulped. "W-Why are you l-looking at me?"

 "Because I feel like it."

I stole a glance at him. He was still smirking at me as if he find me too amusing, or just plain stupid.

"So... you're a vampire..." I murmured and nodded to myself. "Ah..." that makes sense.

He suddenly chuckled. I looked up at him, confused as to why he would laugh in this very serious moment. I forgot that he's a psycho, though.

I sighed. "Why did you take me?" I asked, for the ninth time. I'm really wondering as to why he would kidnap me. I get it that he took me because he wants me to be his blood supplier, but there's a lot of people out there who could be his food, why me?

Again, he didn't respond. I sighed as I felt tears streaming down on my face. I bit my lips.

"Please, l-let me go..." I begged. My heart squeezed at the thought that I'll forever be locked up in this house to relieve his thirst through my blood.

I have a lot of dreams. I'm about to go to college. My mom and dad would be heartbroken because I'm gone. What about them? They'll grow old and no one will take good care of them. I still want them to see me become successful in life to repay all their sacrifices on me.

"Stop crying, human," he spat angrily, making me flinch and break into a sob. "I SAID, STOP CRYING!" he yelled and slammed his hand on the table, making it break.

 I trembled.

"If you think you can make me let go of you because of your drama, think twice. You can only leave this house when you're no longer breathing. Am I understood?"

He stood up and flicked his fingers. Servants came and bowed down their heads.

"Clean it up and bring her to the basement. I'll give her a punishment she deserves to have for being disobedient."
