Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: The Secret of the Light Within

The kingdom of Arunavati did not celebrate after the battle.

Though the village had been saved, the cost of the clash weighed heavily on everyone. Many soldiers were injured, some had fallen, and fear had begun to spread among the people.

For Prince Arjunvarma, the battle had changed everything.

He could not forget the moment when Varak had raised his hand and an unseen force had thrown him to the ground. It was not strength alone—it was something far more powerful… something unnatural.

And yet, in that same moment, Arjun had felt something awaken inside himself.

A light.

A force he could not understand.

Back in the palace, the prince grew restless. Training with swords and strategies no longer felt enough.

One night, unable to sleep, Arjun walked alone through the quiet halls of the palace. The torches flickered as he passed, casting long shadows on the walls.

Without realizing it, his steps led him toward the oldest part of the palace—an ancient corridor that had long been abandoned.

The air there felt different—still, heavy, and filled with a strange silence.

At the end of the corridor stood a massive stone door, covered in faded carvings. Arjun had never seen it before.

Curiosity pulled him closer.

As he placed his hand on the door, something unexpected happened.

A faint glow appeared beneath his palm.

The carvings began to shine.

And slowly… the door opened.

Inside was a hidden chamber.

At the center of the room stood an ancient pedestal, and upon it rested a crystal—glowing softly with a warm, golden light.

Arjun stepped forward, his eyes fixed on it.

"What is this…?" he whispered.

"Something that has been waiting for you."

A voice echoed from the shadows.

Arjun turned sharply.

From the darkness emerged Acharya Devdutt.

"You knew about this place?" Arjun asked, surprised.

The Acharya nodded. "Yes. And I was waiting for the day you would find it on your own."

He walked toward the crystal and looked at it with deep respect.

"This," he said, "is the Heart of Light. It is an ancient power, passed down through the royal bloodline of Arunavati."

Arjun frowned. "Then why have I never heard of it?"

"Because it is not meant for every king," the Acharya replied. "Only for the one chosen to face the darkness."

Arjun's heart raced.

"The prophecy…" he murmured.

"Yes," said the Acharya. "The light you felt during the battle—that was not a coincidence. It is a part of you."

Arjun looked at his hands, remembering the faint glow.

"But how can I use it?" he asked.

Acharya Devdutt stepped closer.

"You cannot control it with strength alone," he said. "This power comes from within—from your courage, your clarity, and your heart."

He gestured toward the crystal.

"Touch it."

Arjun hesitated for a moment… then slowly reached out.

The moment his fingers touched the crystal, a surge of energy rushed through his body.

His eyes widened.

Visions flashed before him—

He saw ancient kings standing against shadows…

He saw battles between light and darkness…

He saw Varak… standing in a storm of black energy…

And then—

He saw himself.

Standing alone, surrounded by darkness… yet shining brighter than anything around him.

Arjun pulled his hand back, breathing heavily.

"What… was that?" he asked.

"The truth," the Acharya replied calmly. "The battle you are meant to fight."

Arjun looked at the crystal again, this time with determination.

"I'm ready," he said.

But the Acharya shook his head gently.

"No, Prince Arjun," he said. "You are not ready… yet."

Arjun's expression tightened.

"This power is not a weapon you can simply use," the Acharya continued. "If your mind is clouded… if your heart is filled with fear or anger… it will consume you."

Arjun remained silent.

He thought of the battle… of the fear he had felt… of his anger toward Varak.

"I understand," he said quietly.

From that night onward, Arjun's training took a different path.

He began to train not just his body, but his mind.

He learned to control his thoughts, to remain calm even in chaos, and to focus his inner strength. Days turned into weeks as he practiced in silence, often meditating for hours.

Slowly, the light within him began to grow stronger.

Meanwhile, far away in the dark forest, Varak stood within his temple.

He could feel it.

"The light…" he whispered. "It is awakening."

His expression darkened.

"Then I must act before it becomes unstoppable."

He raised his hand, and the shadows around him twisted violently.

"Prepare the army," he commanded.

"This time… we do not retreat."

Back in Arunavati, as the sun rose over the kingdom, Prince Arjun stood alone in the courtyard.

He closed his eyes.

For a moment, everything was still.

And then—

A soft golden light began to glow around him.

He opened his eyes slowly.

This time, there was no fear.

Only determination.

The balance between light and darkness was shifting.

And the next battle… would decide everything.
