Chapter 28 - only for him

Morning.

Jay lay on her bed.

Wrapped in her blanket.

Phone beside her.

Eyes half closed.

Lazy.

Very lazy.

Downstairs…

Jeena called out.

"Jay!"

No response.

Again—

"Jay, get ready!"

Jay groaned.

"Five minutes…"

Jasfer sighed.

"She said that thirty minutes ago."

Jeena walked upstairs.

Opened the door.

And there she was.

Still in bed.

Same position.

Same laziness.

"Jay!"

Jay pulled the blanket over her face.

"I'm tired…"

Jeena frowned.

"We have wedding shopping."

Jay mumbled.

"Cancel it…"

Jeena pulled the blanket away.

"No."

Jay turned to the other side.

"Go without me."

Jasfer stood at the door now.

Arms crossed.

"This is your wedding."

Jay replied instantly.

"Your choice."

Jeena gasped lightly.

"Jay!"

Jay sat up suddenly.

Annoyed.

"I don't feel like going."

Jasfer shook his head.

"Stubborn."

Jay flopped back on the bed.

"Yes."

Jeena sighed.

"Fine."

"We're leaving in an hour."

Jay closed her eyes again.

"Go."

They walked out.

Shaking their heads.

Minutes passed.

Jay didn't move.

Didn't care.

Her phone lay beside her.

Silent.

Then suddenly—

It rang.

Keifer.

Jay's eyes opened instantly.

She grabbed the phone.

"Hello?"

Keifer's voice calm.

"Ready?"

Jay sat up straight.

"Ready?"

"For what?"

Keifer frowned slightly.

"Shopping."

Jay blinked.

"Oh…"

A pause.

Then casually—

"I'm not coming."

Silence.

Keifer raised a brow.

"Why?"

Jay lay back again.

"Lazy."

Keifer exhaled softly.

"Jay…"

"Hmm?"

"Come."

Simple.

Just one word.

But his tone…

Different.

Not forcing.

Not ordering.

Just… asking.

Jay sat up again.

Heart reacting faster than her mind.

"Are you coming?"

Keifer replied.

"I'm already here."

Jay froze.

"What?"

She rushed to the window.

Looked down.

And there he was.

Standing near the gate.

Waiting.

Jay's heart skipped.

"I'll be there."

Call cut.

She jumped out of bed.

Rushed to the cupboard.

Opened it.

Clothes flying.

"Where is that…"

She picked one.

Then another.

"No no…"

Finally—

"Perfect."

She changed quickly.

Fixed her hair.

Grabbed her bag.

Looked at herself once.

Then smiled.

Downstairs…

Jeena and Jasfer sat.

Calm.

Still thinking she wouldn't come.

Then suddenly—

Jay ran past them.

Fully ready.

Dressed.

Fresh.

Glowing.

"Bye!"

They both froze.

"…what?"

Jasfer blinked.

"Jay?"

She didn't stop.

"I'm coming!"

Door opened.

Then closed.

Silence.

Jeena slowly turned to Jasfer.

"Wasn't she tired?"

Jasfer stared at the door.

"…miracle."

Outside…

Jay walked toward him.

Trying to act normal.

Again failing.

Keifer looked at her.

From head to toe.

Then smirked.

"Lazy?"

Jay rolled her eyes.

"Shut up."

Keifer chuckled.

"You got ready in five minutes."

Jay crossed her arms.

"So?"

Keifer stepped closer.

"So you only listen to me."

Jay looked away.

Hiding her smile.

"No."

Keifer tilted his head.

"No?"

Jay replied softly.

"…maybe."

Keifer laughed.

"Thought so."

Jay hit his arm lightly.

"Don't get used to it."

Keifer smiled.

"Too late."

Jay smiled too.

Soft.

Natural.

Because the truth was simple.

She could ignore everyone.

She could be stubborn.

Lazy.

Unbothered.

But when it came to him…

She didn't think.

She didn't argue.

She just… showed up.

Every time.
